For reference in 1920, the well used to shoot water 6 feet into the air, like a geyser. Human expansion, water usage, climate change, all part of this. Aquafers don't refill themselves you know.

All we need is another 120K yr glaciation period and melt off to recharge the aquifers.

all we need is to not rush ALL rainwater straight into the ocean... it needs to be slowed down so it can sink into the ground... we need wetlands (you know those areas that were drained and built upon) and so on... we need non-foolish ways to preserve water and have it spend as much time before it slowly reaches the ocean... and no not huge dams that destroy the eco system... but vast wetlands, ponds etc. etc.

I work in pest control. Most bugs are dying in this drought. Makes my job easier. Looks like a desert out here

If its climate change that would mean no part of the world never experienced drought before industrialization.

America burns about 20 million barrels of oil per day. It takes a fair amount of oil to get a gallon of gas to the pump. Huge win for everyone in the industry with these high prices, all-time record profits.

Except what's happening to Jacobs well here in Texas has nothing to do with climate and EVERYTHING to do with the fact that the Austin chronicle and various other Media rags keep encouraging the entire west coast to relocate right to Kyle and Wimberly to feed THOSE corporate profits for developers and the tech companies. We didn't have this problem before Californians voted to destroy their own state and forced so many out. I was born here and Jacobs well never had this problem before the mass Exodus from California and New York. In fact, this area didn't have A LOT of problems until too many of them came here. They came like locusts because it was the hipster chic thing to do and they are so dense they don't realize they're the cause of this but find comfort in blaming the rest of humanity and especially those who were already here.

6th time, in just 100 years. It's never happened in the history of the well prior to that.
