Excellent video of Jah Shaka's Nine Night! Capturing the essence of the impact his music had on all people from different nations. Unity is what we need in this world, and one manJah Shaka seems to have done that. Put down the Gun's and Knives and let yourself be moved into a peaceful tranquillity. Its not coming just from me, what was evident as i said that Shaka brought together countries and different cultures. THAT'S A WONDERFUL LEGACY TO LEAVE HIS FAMILY OF FOLLOWERS.❤

Nuff respect to the bongo drummers listen jah shaka devoted his life to making people happy joyful and peaceful. Shaka when describing playing sir the bigger boss coxsone we didnt really clash but when people took you on you had to defend yourself. Anyway it was good for the sound systems in that time may you rest in peace and you will play around the othet planets up in heaven with your sound systems and win the universal cup JAH SH😮KA

@@haatpraat2993 To many including me, Jah Shaka was anything but "just a sound man"… He may have been that to you, but trust me when I say, Jah Shaka re-connected many thousands of people, back to the Divine, which makes him in my humble estimation, a representative of the Creator. Each to their own though... Rise & Shine.

@@jetblakink You are speaking in delusional terms when you mention Jah Shaka and 'divine' . How exactly did Jah Shaka connect thousands of people with the 'divine'? Perhaps it had a lot to do with his heavy bass and no doubt copious amount of ganja at his dances? No, Jah Shaka was JUST a sound system man who had a massive following in the early 1980s, kept playing through the late 80s, early 90s when Roots Reggae was losing it crowd. Then he started gaining popularity again, but to a whole new crowd - white people and others. I have listened to Jah Shaka several times, most recently a few years back here in Amsterdam and I must say over years given a choice of sounds I would like to listen to, Jah Shaka would not be on my list.
@jetblakink

@@haatpraat2993 Speaking of Jah Shaka reconnecting many of us back to the Divine, is only delusional to someone who has not been through the experiences that many of us have. It's OK if he didn't help you reconnect to spirituality, or to the Holy scriptures in a decadent world of corruption and violence. When Shaka calls out the Twinkle Brothers cry: "JAAAAAH JAHOVIAAAAH!", or when he tears down Babylon with Johnny Clarke singing: "Oh Jah, Give us the Power!…" What do you think that is referring to?… What Power?… The power to do what?… As I said, maybe Jah Shaka was just a sound man to YOU!… For me he was a Brother who played Scripture on vinyl to the dry bones in the valley, who knew nothing about scripture... He personally started me on my journey to know The Most High. That is a Divine journey… A Pilgrimage… Please don't try to deny what we have experienced, just because you have not. You are free to listen to, and rate which every sound system you like, but then so are we. Each to their own…

I recall Shaka playing at Glengall Road in Peckham. The owner told me, many sound systems played there. But when Shaka hires the hall for an evening. He had to board up the windows, because Jah Shaka's bass line , was too heavy. This was in the early eighties. Good Times. RIP JAH SHAKA 🙏

Great footage. I love the interviews towards the end. Great to hear relatable shared experiences of the Mighty Jah Shaka. I remember my first Shaka experience l was working at Brighton Essential Festival heard the music whilst on a 20 minute break. I ended up mesmerized in Shaka’s tent bass ribbing thru my rib cage for 2 hours. I had the best time ever. I remember thinking he looked like a Dub Wizard 🤣 I got docked £100 from my wage that day but it was worth it. I followed him for 30 yrs because the messaging & the uplift ment he bought to my life. He planted a seed within us. That’s his legacy. Let’s continue to support his son Young Warrior & all sound systems because our music documents our Black stories & our journey in fighting systemic oppression globally. Unity Jah Shaka said it all. Fly high beautiful, gentle soul of Jah Shaka 🕊️🖤🕊️🇯🇲🌍🎤🔉🎓💫👊🏾🔥🦁🎼👑💐🧿✊🏾
