Let’s read and analyse some short texts, practising our language skills and hopefully also learning something. In this video, we go further with the quotation from Al-Jahiz in praise of books, having a go at reading it and then translating it. Feel free to pause if you need time to think and work things out.
إنِّي لا أَعْلَمُ شَجَرَةً أَطْوَلَ عُمْرًا و لا أَطْيَبَ ثَمَرًا
و لا أَقْرَبَ مُجْتَنىً مِن كِتَاب
