Kim Jain got me into watching comps! I randomly came across a video a few weeks after I started climbing. For a few days I couldn't watch anyone else because I hated how no one could match her flawless static style! Luckily that has changed now and I enjoy watching competitions, although she's still one of my favorites. It's been about 4 months since I first started climbing now (half of that was quarantine...) and I'm actually developing a rather dynamic style.

Hey good question! So the flagged leg isn't in the box since it's more targeted where her center mass would be and since you can't see the other hold in the shot I had to make an approximate guess of how big the box would be if the hold wasn't wrapped around the wall!

@@AlbertOkay The 98 lb climber needed less effort than the 170 lb climber. Simple physics.
@AlbertOkay
4 жыл бұрын
@@eternalsunshine1651 They both can do it regardless the weight. The physics aren't one dimensional here. The heavier climber was taller and could skip moves, the shorter climber yes was lighter but had to do more moves. Climbing isn't fighting or weight lifting. There's no weight class in running, swimming, jumping, etc. I know you want to argue your point, but it's just not reasonable to hold a weight class in climbing.
@eternalsunshine1651
4 жыл бұрын
@@AlbertOkay I think it is reasonable, weight doesn't necessarily mean height. Like for example climbers who are bodybuilders. or climbers who are literally 4ft tall and weight 50lbs. Kid's quit rock climbing when they get heavier for a reason: because it gets harder. The higher weight classes would be way more prestigious wins and more interesting to watch. That's my opinion.
