You have to remember, he was getting older. He wasn't in his prime anymore. If he worked for their company years before, not a problem.

St. Louis is Flair and Race country. Sam Muchnick ran a great promotion. The city didn’t have cable tv yet so TONS of people watched wrestling on tv. Brody did commercials for appliances. I have an autographed Harley pic but did not get to meet him. Love the show guys.

WWF Harley was still great going back and watching now, he doesn’t get real credit for legit being on the Top 10 performers literally of all time

Those NWA champion schedules were insane. 6 matches in 7 days is crazy.

@@jumbothompson I just saw Jake on the Dark Side of the Ring episode on John "Earthquake" Tenta and he reiterated the fact that the WWE's schedule was extremely grueling. You're literally working every day of the week (Sunday through Saturday), and twice on Saturday and Sundays. You could be gone from home literally, months at a time. And this is compounded by the fact that there's no union (wrestlers are officially defined as being "independent contractors") and there's no offseason like other professional sports. So there's not guaranteed time to rest and recuperate. And back then, you couldn't just go to your boss and ask for three or so months off to go see your wife and your kids unless you want to lose your spot and get fired.

Agreed. 300+ matches/days per year for the NWA champion. The schedule of the NWA champion was brutal for it's time.
