March 23, 1991 - With future NBA point guard Howard Eisley graduating a year prior, Detroit Southwestern superstars Jalen Rose and Voshon Lenard had no issue picking up the slack in his absence. Successfully defending their Class A state championship crown, Rose finished with 25 points and 18 rebounds while Lenard poured in 21 points and 5 rebounds in a 77-63 win over Detroit Northern.
Rose and Lenard finished second and seventh in Michigan's Mr. Basketball voting. Chris Webber, Rose's future teammate at the University of Michigan (making an appearance at 10:45 of the video above) earned top honors as 1991's Mr. Basketball.
