Jalori Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.134m (10,282ft) above the sea level, situated in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, in India. The pass is the nearest mountain pass from Delhi, approximately 500 km away, and its completely unexplored and isolated place near shimla and manali. Whenever you are planning for this trip first make sure you get your vehicle and yourself well-prepared before driving this road. At the top of the Jalori pass there are restaurants available to take lunch, and a Mahakali temple known as Jalori Mata, visited by thousands of devotees from the nearby villages. The road to the summit is called NH305. It is narrow, steep, uneven and full of potholes, making it a bumpy ride. The pass sits on the way from Khanag towards Shoja. The road to the top is both scenic and challenging. You can go to jalori pass from shimla as well as from kullu. If you are going via shimla then you have to go kingal then take turn left towards kullu and tirthan valley. If you are going via kullu then then one diversion near aut tunnel is going to jibhi and jalori pass.
I started our drive from shimla at 9 am and reached jalori in next 7 hour. Road condition is not good from shimla side but route is very scenic after chohna and khanag village. Jalori pass to jibhi distance is 12 km approxe but be careful if you are driving down from jalori top.
