Ingredients for making jam from pine cones:
1. Pine cones - 0.5 kg
2. Sugar - 1 kg
3. Water
How to make jam from pine cones:
1. Thoroughly rinse the cones from dust and any dirt. If they have stalks, cut them with scissors. Pour the cones with clean water so that it covers them by 1.5-2 cm.
2. Place a pot of pine cones in a medium heat and bring to a boil. Then remove it from the heat, cover and let it brew for 12-15 hours.
3. Drain the cones. You should get about 1 liter of liquid, but it may be less or more. This amount you need to know in order to determine the exact weight of sugar. 100 g of infusion take 100 g of sugar. Pour the infusion back into the pot with cones and sprinkle them with sugar.
4. Set the jam to cook for 2 hours. Do not forget to descale and stir so that jam from pine cones does not burn.
5. Once the pine cone jam is cooked, pour it into pasteurized jars. In this case, put a spoon in a jar so that it does not burst when pouring hot jam from the cones. You can put the cooked cones at the bottom of the cans and pour them with syrup.
6. After complete cooling, the jam from the pine cones will thicken. Jars of jam can be closed with nylon lids and stored in the refrigerator. Or roll up and put in a dark cool place.
