Manley was perhaps the strongest Caribbean leader of his time and I remain a strong supporter of what he stood for. It was perhaps by God's will that he didn't become another Maurice Bishop who also stood up to 1st world imperialism. He gave Jamaica the strength it needed and showed the rest of us Caribbean people that we can truly chart our own course. I am not a Jamaican but a West Indian/Caribbean so this gives me the right to honor this giant of Caribbean leadership.

I agree, even though at that time, most of US were blinded by the propaganda on radio and news, paper. We were unaware of apps like the CIA paying off corrupt leaders to destabilized from within , smuggled in weapons that created garrisons, sanctions that created food shortages, and inflation. Notwithstanding, Manley was not without his faults. He shouldn’t have never allowed diplomats to enter the country unchecked. It is said that they were mostly responsible for the influx of weapons. It is also said they were responsible for the attempted assassination, and even later responsible of Bob Marley. Having study the CIA, which by the way is basically British Intel west, and how they get down, I have to deemed these assertions as being credulous

Haiti fought for and won their Independence in the 1800's (1804) to be exact...America was *pissed* !! They didn't take kindly to any Black Nation having the audacity of the concept of freedom (from slavery/bondage and degradation). And vowed that as long as Haiti exists.... They will make sure that Haiti never survives, let alone prosper. YOU seems so steeped in this way of thinking that you apparently see nothing wrong with America in this. What on God's green earth could be wrong with a national leader reaching for and aiming for the betterment/development and social advancement of the *infant/new born country? The so called 'middle class' who packed up their things and ran to Amerikkka were an integral part of keeping a level of destitution/impoverishment and SLAVERY on the majority of the people of the nation. It is not Kingston International Airport , it is called Palisados International Airport which is now called Norman Manley International Airport which on the day left Jamaica on December 23 2018 my first visit in then was fourteen years need not to be given an explanation as to why it was named after Norman Manley it is clearly obvious and I am not completely clueless like many others make me out to be and to go with any further explanation I said yes am fully aware of why it is called Norman Manley International Airport . Me personally will always call it Palisados .

I'm currently reading the book "A brief history of seven killings" By marlon James. It's sparked my interest in Jamaica of that time. We, around the world, know every little of Jamaica as a country, especially afte its independence from the U.K. in 1962.

Being a born Jamaican is not in the constitution to not be elected as long as you renounce your birth citizenship. He was more Jamaican than many black Jamaicans who are today born in America but has not chosen Jamaica to be their residence. Seaga was only born there and taken to Jamaica by his mother at only 8 months old. That was a little baby you dumbo. He literally grew up in Jamaica and went to school in Kingston you ignorant fool.

Edward Seaga has every right to be a leader of Jamaica since his parents were Jamaican and he lived his whole life in Jamaica. He relinquish his US citizenship to ensure he's really serious about leading Jamaica in the right direction.

The similar causes were to educated the poor and universal health care paid for by the wealthy , who made their wealth off the poor ( which was black people) and allowing countries to have self determination rather than outside influences

And also to fight against apartheid in Angola and Mozambique.. the Kissinger files talked about these.. Henry Kissinger told him to denounce Russia, which means he would have to denounce Cuba, when Cuba went to help Africans against apartheid.
