Fyi for the Americans making Jamaican food, at 5:05 when she says “You don’t want it fresh” that means something like, bland, needs salt (or sugar, but not for bammy). Now we’re home from Jamaica, going to try to make it myself! Thanks for video!

Yes. They would just need to be made flat. Not as thick as the ones in the video

Roma, we love and appreciate you. Thank you for sharing, always. I wonder if I could get similar results with cassava flour or the shredded cassava from the supermarket? This cassava is the sweet one? Edit: I commented before getting to the part where you worked to 'a nice flour-like consistency' 🙂

❤❤Thank you for always supporting me. You've found the answer I see but let me answer anyways.. Yes that can be used but you'll need to damp it with a little water

This is the best method of making bammy that I've watched. Some instructors suggest to wring the grated cassava very dry, but you'll end up with very dry, trashy bammies which was my experience 2 days ago. Always leave a little moisture during the wringing process like Roma suggested and your bammies should be more moist and have a nice bite to them. Straight to the point, excellent video!

@@ROMASKITCHEN96 It wasn't too bad u na. But didn't come out exactly the way I wanted but was still nice. I was watching your video while I made and kept rewinding certain parts so I don't mess up. The problem is I didn't have those pot divider things to put the bammy in to keep it together on the stove. I'm gonna have to buy some. I ended up having to put the bammy in some small baking tray in the oven to keep it together, so since it was baked it, it was kinda dry. I still ate it for dinner with fish. My family and I enjoyed it. I haven't been to Jamaica in over a decade and probably haven't had bammy in like 20 years. So I missed it and decided to try male it for the first time since I had cassava growing in my yard.

Can be eaten with anything, one day l was preparing balmy with liver, my sister was criticizing the combination, however she was asking for more before she completed what she had in her plate.
