As a young teenager, I exhaustively played the N64 game before really seeing the movie. At a time when videogames didn't bear much visual resemblance to the movies. So I was surprised at the movie and how watchable it was and memorable the characters. Too bad Tomorrow Never Dies is stuck in GoldenEye's massive shadow, making everyone hate TND's few weaknesses. While just like this review, I think Brosnan's final outing totally works if you don't take it too seriously. While World is Not Enough is easily forgettable other than its fun opening sequence.

@@lesliestiers I saw NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN. when it came out. I liked it a lot actually. It was nice to see Sean Connery back in the role. Your opinions are sound , and whilst I agree woth some of your rankings and the reasons why, some I don't , but that's the beauty of options, everyone has one, and being respectful , when someone doesn't agree with your rankings, (such as ohmss being at the bottom and casino royale being top tier bond,), for me, what the Bond communiity does best, respcting others rankings. I mean you only have to go on star wars forums and other movie forums to find others jumping down each other's throat for merely having an opinion, let alone ranking the movies. So good video, most enjoyable.

I think whatever bond is from the individual's era has a great chance of determining how they place the individual's choice. for me , I grew up in the roger Moore era, so my favourite bond movies are live and let die , the man with the golden gun , the spy who loved me and for your eyes only. I also had the privilege of seeing roger Moore in England and sitting in his company for almost 3 hours. He was the classiest guy I ever met in my entire life and his stories were totally hilarious. Roger never took himself seriously in the saint , the persuades and James Bond. He really was a terrific guy. 👍

Man this is the closest to my personal ranking I've ever seen on KZitem aha Here's my personal ranking : Would love to know how other fans feel about it 25. No Time to Die 24. Spectre 23. Quantum of Solace 22. Casino Royale 21. Skyfall (I swear I'm not a Craig hater lol I actually absolutely LOVE Daniel Craig, and not only him but I just ADORE the whole cast he's got with him in these films, I just adore the actors... It's the films I dislike) 20. The World is not Enough 19. For your Eyes Only 18. Tomorrow Never Dies 17. Die Another Day (so bad that I watch it as a comical movie and it never fails to crack me up) 16. Dr.No 15. OHMSS (loads of things I love in this one especially the theme song which is my absolute favourite in the whole series, and I find myself rather impressed with Lazenby, especially when considering it was his first real acting gig. But I feel a solid chunk of the film is too slow for me and not enough action for that same chunk) 14. The Man with the Golden Gun 13. Thunderball 12. Moonraker (I could LOVE this one if it wasn't for the constant change of locations which... Yes I find really exhausting) 11. Goldeneye (top 3 villains lineup in Bond, and probably top 10 in cinema history in my opinion aha) 10. Goldfinger (my apologies lol but I do love it) 9. You Only Live Twice 8. Live and Let Die 7. Diamonds are Forever (yes lol but brave yourself you're not done with extreme subjectivity here lol) 6. The Spy who Loved me (Used to be in my top 3 but the last time I watched it I found that all the praise about Triple X being a more modern and fair portrayal of women to be totally undeserved. I feel she still is this same embarrassing cliche of women whom need help from James to survive... And this did hinder my enjoyment) 5. The Living Daylights 4. From Russia with Love 3. A View to a Kill (OMG I'm so sorry please don't skin me alive James Bond fans, but I love this one so much, actually could be tied for second) 2. Octopussy (amongst so many qualities I find to this one, I will only mention one : as good as Goldeneye in terms of its villains lineup... And so many more things) 1. License to Kill (just like the previous one I will not mention all the qualities I find to this one. I'll mention two : 1. Absolute best villains lineup in the series in my opinion, and it's saying a lot when the competition is Goldeneye and Octopussy, amongst others. 2. FINALLY we have an exciting powerful interesting female lead in Pam Bouvier, whom I think is the first one whom deserves all the praise somehow given to the writing of Triple X. Even Lupe whom gets a lot of flak, I think is better written than Triple X and most of the previous female characters in Bond, wether they were leads or supporting.) Would love to get feedback from the fandom

The World is Not Enough (Starting to enjoy this movie more) 20. The Man With The Golden Gun 19. Quantum of Solace 18. For Your Eyes Only 17. The Living Daylights 16. Spectre (Sue me, I enjoy this movie) 15. Moonraker 14. Diamonds Are Forever (I think people to tend overhate this movie. It isn't a classic Bond movie, but I don't think it's supposed to be) 13. You Only Live Twice (The theme song is wonderful) 12. License to Kill 11. Live and Let Die 10. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Brought down by Lazenby's performance) 9. Tomorrow Never Dies 8. He has 6 fims in the superior rankings. I totally agree with CASINO ROYALE, which mgiht be the greatest bond film ever. Also LISCENCE TO KILL. I took this date out, a much younger woman than myself, sadly, I did not really put my best foot forward I felt on this date, and sad, never went out with her again. I felt I was a total idiot. Over time, though that film has really impressed me, with the lead hench men of Benicio Del Toro, and the most 3 divinsional villain of all the bond films, played by Robert Davi as Sanchez. At the time, many of us, disliked Timmothy Dalton as James Bond, he was probably the most hated James Bond, even more so than George Lazenby. But in retrospective, he is one of the best, along for me Sean Connery and Daneil Craig. Other films though that I would add to those top 6 are, in his order, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, QANTAM OF SOLACE, THUNDERBALL, and yes, the one he dislikes perhaps the most, THE SPY WHO LOVED ME. The two worst, THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, the film that almost killed the Bond Franchise at the time. Also FOR YOUR EYES ONLY. Got great reviews, but I saw it in the theater at the time, and found it very boring .I neever went to the movie theater to see another Rodger Moore Bond film again.

As for ‘No Time To Die’, if Phoebe Waller-Bridge wasn’t involved with it, it would be S-Tear, but she clearly had her say in two lines of dialogue that were just clear virtue signalling and it completely breaks the suspense of disbelief and takes you completely out of the film. In fact, it just makes me angry because it undermines the intelligence of the audience and are completely unnecessary. Lashana Lynch is absolutely kick ass and gives Bond as good as she gets. No problem with her being moved up to 007. How she gives Bond his 007 status back was dumb and out of character though. But there are a few lines of dialogue where you just shake your head and ask why? The rest of the film is baller though👌🏻

I will probably go to my grave defending TWINE as the best Brosnan movie. Yes, GoldenEye and TND are more iconic and fun. And Die Another Day is certianly very memorable, to put it nicely. But TWINE, to me, has one of the coolest Bond women, who also happens to be one of the most manipulative Bond villains. Elektra King is BOTH, and her demise is perfect. Bond cant help himself, but he also cant quite trust her either. Awesome music, good action, and excellent pre-title sequence, too. Yes, the final fight is lame. And yes, Denise Richards performance isnt very good. But Sophie Marceau more than makes up for it, for me.
@lesliestiers
21 күн бұрын
What I needed from TWINE was more time to explore Elektra and Renard together. Remove Denise Richards character entirely and allocate that time to further fleshing out the Villains and Bonds personal stakes. Replace some of the settings, darken the tone even more, and you got a top tier Bond film in my opinion. The lyrics and power of the title song stand atop the peak of perfection but sadly the plot and characters don’t get to meet them there.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is s***. It always has been, until hipster contrarians started calling it a masterpiece, just because everyone else hated it. Just to make themselves look edgy! If Bond was so in love, why did he bang 15 chicks in the alpine retreat? Right in front of his big love? There was one scene in this film that had merit. It’s the scene where he breaks into the office to look at the secret files and puts them back and gets out without anyone knowing he was there. What a real secret agent is supposed to do. Bond is continually getting caught with his pants down, whilst creeping about. But Lazenby actually did that scene right. The rest is cr** though.

Skyfall is vastly overrated. I can't stand the recency bias that pervades the reception of the Craig Bond films. Also, I simply refuse to accept that it was more profitable than 'Thunderball'. It just rings untrue to me because of demographic changes since the 60s. Where did the bigger audience come from? China? And that made up for the vastly smaller customer potential in the West since the 60s? I don't buy it.

Man, loved this until you dissed Her Majesty's Secret Service. I know I'm salty, but I almost stopped watching it. You do a good job with everything though. I enjoy your energy for Timothy. Can't believe you put the 4th Pierce's movie not in f tier.

I’m very cognizant of how highly revered OHMSS is, and I wouldn’t take that from anybody. I just don’t connect with it like others do. Timothy Dalton certainly is a shining gem. I love his two Bond movies the same way people love OHMSS. Die Another Day was a special childhood movie theatre experience, so despite its countless problems, it has an X factor.

I was agreeing with you until you said ' that black girl.' It's not much of an effort to find her name...

You're the type of bro who thinks speed metal is the best soundtrack for Godzilla.movies. It's just there in every choice you made here. I'm sorry for your future girlfriend. Just delete everything, because you're embarrassing yourself.
