+Swedish Gamer Studio What one grew up with matters a lot of course :) I like Sean Connery and Roger Moore too, but Pierce Brosnan was a great Bond for sure, and while Goldeneye wasn't the first Bond movie I ever saw, it was the first one I saw when it had just come out and was brand new! (I was 10 years old when Goldeneye came out). I really like Brosnan a lot more than his new successor! The new blonde guy, Daniel Craig never felt like a true James Bond to me.. just my opinion though... maybe they were trying to make Bond a bit different.

Brosnan was too playful for me, its like he's full trying to be suave all the time. Craig has this charming but kinda stoic delivery, I like him as modern Bond. Connery however, I think he nailed it perfectly. He's charming, suave, but somehow still radiates 'danger' - a perfect balance between Craig and Brosnan. And this might be an unpopular opinion, but I personally think that Dalton's Bond also nailed it. He's actually my next fave after Connery

So, sadly, I am back again to comment on one of the greatest scenes in movie history. This time on the occasion of the passing of Sean Connery. Whom I enjoyed in many movies - one of the earliest being Hell Drivers from the 1950s which is a great movie of the time. The Name of the Rose, & The Untouchables were another two standouts from a long career. James Bond has got to be one of the most admired & aspirational characters ever created and no one has or could have played him better.

What's fascinating about this scene, and I've only noticed it upon recent viewing, is that the "Bond, James Bond" convention wasn't actually started by Bond. When Bond asks the girl her name "Miss...?",she says, "Trench, Sylvia Trench". It was just shortly after that she asks "Mr...?", that he says the famous line for the first time, following her line.

Many people focus just on the delivery of Connery, but seem to miss the whole cinematography in the build-up to the moment the secret agent introduces himself, from the entrance in the casino room while watching the gorgeous damzel catching the attention of our hero. The fact that we never see his face until he delivers the legendary line adds to the whole greatness that was the acting by Connery. And thats why no other actor\bond movie will ever top this, because they will be imitating while Connery and this director created something new and special.

"Trench, Sylvia Trench. I admire your luck, Mr... ?" "Bond, James Bond." Eunice Gayson, the very first Bond girl, played Sylvia Trench in Dr. No (1962) and From Russia with Love (1963). Grayson said in 2012 that filming the scene had not been easy as Sean Connery struggled with the line. She said: "He had to say Bond, James Bond, but he came out with other permutations like Sean Bond, James Connery. 'Cut! Cut! Cut!'" At the instigation of the director, Terence Young, Gayson took Mr Connery for a drink, and he returned to deliver it perfectly. Sylvia Trench was due to be a recurring character, but the idea was dropped by the director of Goldfinger, Guy Hamilton. But while Gayson is the only woman to appear as the same Bond girl in two movies - Sylvia Trench also appears in a clinch with 007 in From Russia with Love - her voice is not heard in either of them. As with many of the Bond girls in the 1960s and 1970s, her lines were rerecorded by voiceover artist Nikki van der Zyl. Born: 17 March, 1928 - Croydon, United Kingdom Died: 8 June, 2018 - London, England Requiescat in pace.

One of the truly iconic moments in cinema - I don't think that same sense of style and glamour could be recreated today, it's a bygone era. I searched this out because Eunice Gayson, the actress who played Sylvia Trench has passed away today at the age of 90.
