@Meadow Apple Maybe you didn't understand the joke, but it's quite common to call the first born of a king/queen the same name as the king/queen. Famously, England is a constitutional monarchy, which means they still have a Queen. Queen Elizabeth II. So, when someone would introduce the Queen, it'll go like this:"This is Queen x The y". Now, Trump being in this constituional monarchy, talking to the Queen, he'd probably introduce Melania. Incidentally, Melania happens to be the "Third Queen" on Trump's side. Because he was married two times prior to marrying Melania. You could add the whole "Trump's people are sheeps, and follow their king"-joke, and the fact that Melania is quite the generic choice for a rich old dude to it(whether his wives before were named Melania doesn't matter. They're essentially the same.) - but... I mean, a joke isn't funny if it has to be explained, but considering you're saying I'm the one who is easily fooled into thinking something is funny when the laugh sign comes on, I thought joking about your inability to either put aside your bias, or understand a joke, I figured joking about you would be fun. Then again, I'm not as good as Colbert or Corden. Have a nice day.

Just as an explanation for the protocol of not touching the Queen, this tradition dates back hundreds of years all the way back to the middle ages and beyond. This is because back then royalty particularly the ruling monarchs of the imperil dynasties of that time in Europe were considered divine and anointed by god in their roles as rulers of common men. It was also used as a security measure back than because of the threat of being touched by someone with the plague could kill a monarch and their whole household if it were to spread. And in some rare instances their was the very real peril for monarchs to be assassinated with a concealed dagger by someone in their court. Political allegiances back then were constantly shifting and therefore could be hard to know at any given time who was friend or foe. In modern times the protocol is continued simply for the sake of tradition and a sign of respect for her status in the world. Furthermore the Queen is also the head of the Anglican Church of England and therefore in many respects a religious leader on par with the Pope, it is considered a sign of religious reverence not to touch her without her consent first.

We don’t pay taxes to them, they actually give us all of the money they make from their assets. They just get a small percentage back to live on...

Clara ñop poñ god you’re such an idiot. You don’t need to be English to know this (I’m not British), you just need to be not be completely uneducated. No one pays taxes to her or the royal family. So the countries that don’t have a royal family are all tax free havens now, are they? The royal family gives most their private assets for public use free of charge or revenues generated from their PRIVATE assets to public spending, thus significantly decreasing tax burden. So even if they lose their titles, they still own their assets like any private ownership of estates. When was the las t time you or your president gave personal estate for public use? 🤔

I agree, and there's probably two reasons for it. First, these people are in the same line of work, so he connects with them emotionally on the shared life. Second, and in part due to the first, he tends to know these people pretty well, at least better than a solid majority of his guests. So he ends up being more relaxed and more connected to these people during the interviews than he may otherwise be.

mtrotter2 well with Brexit and our failing government and the possibility of trade deals with America (which would be awful) and selling at least 1/3rd of the NHS to wealthy men in America, when Trump comes along and says that Nigel Farage should be prime minister. I think we do hate trump just as much

@elliedickinson113

Joe Tayport the fact that you believe that it’s the EUs fault there is drug problems and that they are destroying industries is a joke. You’re naive if you believe that Brexit won’t ruin our economy or are you staying that you know better than the experts who say it’s going to be worse than 2008. And if was going to improve politics then why has it caused 2 PMs, the leader of the house, multiple cabinet members and countless MPs to resign. You call the UK democratic but what’s undemocratic is that in every modern government a supermajority I’d need to change the constitution so why are changing it when it’s Scraped a simple majority and was based on lies. When the campaign leader’s facing the courts it’s hardly a democratic campaign.

The concept of "lessening majesty" is why the queen isn't meant to be touched. Most monarchies across the world have/had similar protocols to raise the person onto a pedestal so that they aren't thought of as a "normal" person whose authority might be questioned.
