I thought it was a bit meh, really. It felt like a germ of an idea that might have worked better as a plot line in a soap opera rather than material for a 90 minute play. The way they handled the scene changes felt really amateurish and my overall feeling was that the cast deserved better stuff to work with than they were given. The two leads were fine, the copper felt like an unnecessary extra who was simply there to try and bring some semblance of a plot to what was otherwise two people talking at each other. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. Still, it was much better than Alma Mater, that I saw at the Almeida the night before. One of the worst things I have ever seen.

I totally see what you mean, especially about the scene changes. The set being so simple and them barely changing any costumes didn’t help with adding dynamic into the show but I think there was also something about it being simply a conversation between the two people that made it feel relatable and real. It did leave me wanting more from the plot, for sure. Oh good to know! Didn’t hear much about it but sounds like it’s better for it to stay that way. 😂
