Spectacular! It's interesting to note that there's another "super" mansion from this period also in Minnesota. This one is in Duluth and was built on the North shore of Lake Superior by Mr. Congdon, an iron ore magnate in 1895 for the then amount of $845,000. It has beautiful grounds with creeks running through to the lake. It's called Glensheen, now owned by the University of Minnesota. Definitely worth a visit. Many interesting tours. Check it out!

Thank you so much for posting this video. Several years ago I got to go on a tour with the Watkins Center, it was amazing to tour. I hope I can bring my family there one day when I feel my almost 4 year old is mature enough to appreciate the beauty that is this amazing historic mansion.

Thanks so much for posting this mini tour of our house! I just have to correct a few things though, since I work there as a guide: Out of the 22 fireplaces, only 16 are gas, not all 22. The first floor hallway is 88 feet long, rather than an even 100. And the stained glass doors in the first floor hallway lead to the cloak room, not to the terrace outside.

Why a "Star of David" for the button location for the silver? I thought Hill was full Irish... Did he have Jewish ancestory to?

Not ancestry. But he did become member of Jekyll Island organization and friends with JP Morgan and others due to his empire building skills... (He was known as the Empire Builder). He also had big ties to the catholic church because his wife was catholic, so even though he didn't claim to be other than protestant, I think he did most of his charity work with the Catholics, even built this house right next to the Catholic church.

Anyone else notice the shadow pass the doorway at 3:14? Could just be someone in the other room but if not that’s pretty creepy...

So why do we want to look at a close-up of the not so attractive narrator when the video is about a house?

The ex- and interior of the house in the Netflixseries is way more beautifull than this American Disney tinker. Bad bad taste. Sorry but Americans just don't get it. they always miss the point on the original European old style.
