After a long and courageous fight against cancer, James McCaffrey, an actor who had previously performed the voice of Max Payne in the popular video game series and most recently dubbed Alex Casey in "Alan Wake 2," passed away on Sunday, according to Variety, which confirmed the news with his manager. He was 65 years old.
The news that McCaffrey had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma was initially reported by TMZ, which was the source of the information.
McCaffrey had a career in cinema and television acting for more than three decades prior to beginning his career as a voice actor for video games. His first roles were in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but the police drama "New York Undercover" on Fox was the one that brought him to the forefront of the entertainment industry. In Season 3, he appeared on multiple occasions as Captain Arthur O'Byrne, a recurrent character. After that, he became a star in the NBC action series "Viper," which launched in 1994 and ran for a single season.
