Project Gecko (former Israeli SOF) explained (backed by real empirical data) that the majority of the time during a high stress situation a defender won't shoot what he can't see; shooting what you can't see is not a natural human behavior during high stress situation; thus it is actually really rare that a defender shoots at the wall (it can happen, but it is extremely rare; it is the 5% exception, not the 95% rule) So at the end even when walls don't stop bullets it is still an effective, reliable and good technique to do some deliberate/combat clearance/pieing Besides experience has proven that doing dynamic against resistance leads to significant casualties (for example Delta Force had many casualties during the early days of the GWOT, where they used almost exclusively dynamic) At the end nowadays SOF units don't do dynamic entries anymore, except in some very specific situations (mostly hostage rescue)

I have a list of 11 Delta KIA in Iraq between 2003-2006 (no one till 2015), only two were killed while using Dynamic Entry (Horrigan & McNulty) and both were killed in the same room entry with a enemy hided in a corner. All other operators died in different circumstances.

@@sofit we can read on wikipedia that Delta Force suffered an overall 20% casualty rate in Iraq. So your figures are quite weird, and doubtful. Moreover in a podcast with a former Delta operator they even talked about a 50% casualty rate kzitem.infoPkQYAxehXyk?si=VGAV9Mk5qWzvlfZa Then it has been said for years that tier 1 units experienced significant casualties in the early days of the GWOT while using dynamic entries when it was against some well prepared defenders, which is why they decided to switch tactics for deliberate entries instead. And I have never heard any former operator of these units denying this historical fact. Finally 90% of the raids done by these tier 1 units were done at night, with full surprise where the ennemy is caught off guard while sleeping in bed, and with zero time to react and prepare defence. So this is very different from the case of prepared barricaded defenders. Moreover during the B*n Laden raid: the DEVGRU did not used dynamic, but rather deliberate. And same for Delta Force with the Bag*dadi raid. And furthermore apparently several Delta Force operators said in some podcast with David Hookstead that nowadays they use mostly deliberate entries rather than dynamic (except for hostage rescue)

@@Adri-242 i think you are making a little confusion with when deploy one method instead of another. Devgru used Deliberate method in UBL raid: probably correct. Why? Its was overseas (ballistic walls) & at night with nods (so no one will see you while working the threshold), you got two major and releveant points for when you can use Deliberate/Combat Clearing method. 20% causalties are around 12-14 operators wounded or killed in 2005-2006, that are almost the KIA that Delta got in that timeframe (no one KIA after 2006). They wear an helmet and a plate carrier for a reason: probability to be hit is really high. You can clear the threshold from the outside using Combat Clearing and then be killed while making entry to clear the hard corner. Can you provide me a link of the podcast where those operators talk about use of Deliberate as standard entry method in domestic constructions?
