entertaining story. just imagine if you switched out some of the descriptions and participants. where the storyteller was white. and he brought this small meek young black protege to a giant financial conference filled with white Warren Buffett and all his white Warren Buffett like minions. And then the white storyteller just shoves the young black protege out on the stage where he proceeds to wow the crowd with amazing investment strategies and methods of accumulating and protecting wealth and the all white crowd is amazed and gives him a standing O. again, it would be an entertaining story. but also, wouldn't both stories be more than a bit disrespectful to the young unknown person being thrust out there as well as to their respective races? I mean Jamie almost makes it sound like... white people are ok well enough with this music thing they play around with, I mean they try, they really try... but put them in a room full of blacks? he better walk out there and adjust the mic stand and then run like hell cause this crowd is not about to be disrespected by anything this guy can do... not here, not with this audience. kind of like the Eminem in 8 Mile vibe. I dunno. I'm sure I'm gonna get a ton of backlash. don't really care. It's not my intent to put down or build up one race over another. As I said, I think it would be disrespectful in either circumstance.
