Being a star on Nickelodeon (Her acting wasn't too bad), being kicked off for her teen pregnancy, and the accident with Maddie. However, most of the interview and probably book is about Britney. I agree that she's a narcissist. She's an interesting case though because she has to bring attention to herself through her relationship with someone else.

I'm sure JL was absolutely terrified and heartbroken when she thought her daughter had drowned, but it's sort of telling that she said she was so scared that her daughter's last thoughts were "why didn't mommy save me?" Most people in similar situations worry that their child's last moments would be them being terrified, in pain, etc, but she managed to make it about herself.
@caitlinobrien3828

@@bunnylacy2097 My former step mother was a narcissist and managed to make her middle son's autism diagnosis and her older son's drug problem at 13 all about herself. Sadly, the biggest victim was her only daughter, whom she constantly tried to compete with. She was 5 when I met her and people were constantly talking about her gorgeous curly red hair... But her mother would tell her that her hair was "unfortunate" and that she'd have to straighten it and dye it blonde when she got old enough, so she could "get a rich husband like Mommy did". I sincerely hope JLs narcissism doesn't go to that extent... Especially since those children don't seem to have anyone role modeling healthy relationships to them. It would be very sad if they grew up to act just like their mother does, if one grew up to treat the other terribly as their mother did, or if they thought it was acceptable for someone to treat them the way their mother treats someone she supposedly loves so much.

@@KayRose0 The problem isn't that she felt guilt... Guilt is a totally normal emotion that any parent will feel many times in their child's life, even over seemingly inconsequential things. I experience mental health issues including bipolar 2. My family systems weren't particularly healthy and I have known people with very toxic family systems. The things she's saying honestly ring true. Situations like this rarely have 100% good guys and 100% bad guys. I believe that Britney AND Jaime Lynn are both sick. It's just unacceptable that Britney's level of illness was used as an excuse to imprison her for profit.

I agree completely. I honestly believe a lot of what both of them have said. I believe they both did some crazy and irrational things. I believe they are both mentally ill and I feel like that has a lot to do with the hard childhood they had with their mom and dad being the type of people they are and being child stars on top of it. It’s sad for both of them, but I do feel like Britney was far more exploited and taken advantage of in this situation than Jamie Lynn ever was. But then again, if Jamie Lynn would have been the star singer and Britney would have been the younger sister, I feel sure Jamie Lynn would have been the one with the conservatorship. They were both failed horribly by their parents and their childhood. And Britney was horribly failed by the law and the state or CA. I wish both of them well.

I agree. I don’t think Lynn is 100% innocent, but I do try to understand when the conservatorship started, she was a teenager and of course pregnant. She was most likely (in my opinion) manipulated by her family to go against her sister. I’m not saying that we should forgive her for doing what she did. I just see that she was so young when Britney became famous and was probably taught to think that her sister was their family piggy bank, by her parents.

@@sassysucculent6291 yeah I sometimes feel like people are a little bit to mean about Jamie Lynn, I think people forget that she grew up with the same parents as Britney and look what happened to her with her family, just wonder what Jamie Lynn also went trough. It doesn’t give her an excuse for what she did to her sister, but I do think people need to keep that in mind.

@@sassysucculent6291 Sloan is young and genuinely seems to care about people and I think he definitely does that, at least he's doing it in this video where there are 100% angel victims (Britney) and bad, mean liars (Jaime Lynn.) Britney certainly is a victim. Undeniably. She should not have been imprisoned for profit under the guise of protecting her from her mental illness, but that doesn't mean that her mental illness isn't real (Who wouldn't have a hard time experiencing what she's experienced) and as you or someone else said, Jaime Lynn was a kid when a lot of this went down. God, this is so sad.

I feel sorry for both Jamie and Britney. I think Jaimie has been manipulated by her parents and her experiences. I've seen it happen in my own family. A single worm in the ear over years and years can mess with a person's perception of reality. Britney has been treated horrendously but I think Jaimie is being manipulated behind the scenes.

That’s the only thing I feel bad for her. Cause we don’t know if she wasn’t manipulated and maybe it even started really early on that they manipulated her. We never know how much her parents might have pushed her to be as famous as her sister and whatever else and after she got pregnant, they might have just used her in a different way, cause her popularity was drowning. I don’t even want to think about it. But that still doesn’t make it right to talk bad about her sister in front of cameras. Just to get some pitty

"When will I matter" that's the whole issue in a nutshell, JL was overlooked and jealous. I can't help thinking they were all secretly happy about this conservatorship as they got their time to shine.

I find it very telling that in this interview and statements she has made before, JS refers to her love, admiration, closeness, etc... for BS in past tense. It seems like she is reaching back in the past for how she felt about BS when she was a child. She never says, I love my sister or I look up to her, every time every emotion has an "ed" on the end. It's like BS is dead to her and that is the way she acts to, she hasn't actually cared about BS for years, she has only cared about how she can benefit her, but that is as far as it goes!

Jamie “I was doing a tribute to my sister for that.” Sis Brittany has been supporting you and your entire family for years and taking all her rights away. She’s always felt like a shadow and she really thought she had a moment. They need to let Brittany have her OWN life.

It just doesn’t sound like she’s had more trauma than any of the rest of us, maybe with the exception of her daughter’s ATV accident. She doesn’t mention why Britney was yelling at her??? Bottom line she’s still trying to make money from being Britney Spears sister. She’s tearful that she wants a relationship with Britney but can’t quit publicly talking (and writing) about her in a negative way. Hmmm 🤔

I think the whole family has had a lot of toxicity and that Jamie Lynn is a product of that. I don't think she's evil or horrible, but I think her maturity level for her age is lacking. There are some articles out there that say whatever age your worst trauma was is where you can be emotionally and mentally stunted--I could see that with both her and Britney in some regards. I hope that one day they can come together as strong sisters above the trauma and abuse they've endured.
