Hi Eric great video, tank looking good and nice piece of rock work for the frags, you might want to start picking the asterina out of the tank manually before they really get out of control,I ended up picking between 50+60 per day for 7 days. Pain in the bum but keep on reefing

great video Eric, im a beginner getting a Evo 13.5 in a couple of weeks on order right now. Your torch is amazing! I've heard they are hard to keep but i really like them... Any tips for a new guy into the hobbie especially for Torches?

Hi Lee. Thank you for watching and welcome to the hobby! I have had 2 torches; 1 died on me a few years ago. Was chatting with one of the guys from fragbox and he seemed to think it was because I switch slat mixers.. I guess it can happen. My suggestion is to ensure you parameters are stable. Large fluctuations are never a good thing. I really don't do anything special other than stable parameters, regular water changes and dosing All-For-Reef and potassium. Hope this helps. Please stay in touch and let me know how it goes.

Nice additions Eric! Looking really nice! I would be interested in hearing what you do for maintenance how often you do those things. Thanks!

@@My525XLRedSeaReefer cool. I’m trying to figure out what a good water change schedule and maintenance would be. Because what I’m doing isn’t working.. continuously dealing with issues..

@@MikeLemming I was changing out 2 gal a day. I didn't think i was getting much out of that so I changed to 5 gal twice a week. Are you're nutrients high?

@@My525XLRedSeaReefer I honestly haven’t checked my nitrates or phosphates in a couple of months. They were relatively high then and I I had a bunch of green hair algae that finally went away after a ton of manual removal and water changes. Now I’ve went back to water changes every 6 weeks or so but that doesn’t seem to be enough even though I’ve been doing 40g on a 130g total volume. I’m thinking of buying an auto water change system to free me of water change duties. Maybe I’ll check nutrients tonight and report back.

@@MikeLemming yes I would check the nitrate and phosphate levels... they can run away from you very quickly! That's a good size water change so it should help over time. Key is to manage the nutrients.. I swear by the Kamoer water change unit. It's fast an quieter than the DOS system.
