Is it perfect???????YES!! There is NO :stitcher I watch (other than yourself and Nicola) that would EVER even try to accomplish that!!!! I always did say you have magic fingers when I watched your sew w/ me’s. (I miss them). Jan, I was biting my lip watching you do that.....threading the needle w/ such a short amount of thread. I could never do that. And nobody if they were doing it for you, could charge enough money! Bless your heart. YOU DID IT!!! Just amazing. JUST AMAZING!!! 👏👏👏👏

Ah- mazing, Jan! You are so much braver than I am! Actually, one of the many reasons I will never be as good as Nicola Parkman or Jan Hicks is that I would have added a new stem to the design and placed a big x right over the hole! My father was a tailor and made and altered men’s suits. Back in the day there was a lot of smoking and a lot of men wearing suits who were smoking and I can remember them bringing things to Daddy with holes in them. And he was always sending them to a reweaver. It is quite a skill. Yours looks perfect to me!

Hi Jan. Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make this. I do have a suggestion. It would be easier to get those linen threads woven in if you thread your needle like you are going to do a loop start. Work the needle under the stitches put the linen thread through the loop and then pull it through (under the stitches). That would be easier than trying to use the needle threader
@debrablanson2288
3 жыл бұрын
I would use Jean Farish's loop method to get those small threads weaved in. Now I won't sweat it if my linen ever gets a hole because you just showed me how to fix it, thank you Love that needle threader I've never seen one like that and looks way better than the one's they make today.

Dear Jan, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for sharing your repair with everyone❤️ As a relatively new and inexperienced stitcher I sadly caused a warp thread to break when trying to reduce a slub (lesson learned I won’t touch them again!) I watched your and Nicola’s KZitem and you both gave me the confidence to give this a go. Your calm and guiding voice got me through this - it was like having you by my side! Thank you from the bottom of my heart you both definitely saved my piece!💕 #suzilou02 Cheers Louise xx❤️
