My dear Jan, it's always delightful to see you and listen to your performances, I just love this Concerto and your interpretation sounds like a beautiful dream. Thank you so much for sharing ❤ Thanks, "Deutsche Grammophon", for the post !

This is probably the most beautiful KZitem-vide I have ever seen. My father, from Norway, as I am from, asked for this tune to be played at his funfral this yar. Not noral, only musical. And as one of victiim of Germany in 1940-1945, also for him so good to see that Berlin is again the human and capital of Europe. Bravo.

great and creative concept. The rose petal (to me) signifies the music love offering Mozart and the performer are giving to the world through the music. The performer looked at the world from high above and threw out the petal as an invitation to any sensitive soul to join and continue the music art. The fact that a little girls picked up the pedal makes the performer's point very clear... The music will live for generations to come... Very beautiful idea!!!

What a wonderful video. I love how the child picks up the petal and carries it off. Classical music is something that all can love and cherish. A pinnacle of creative forms that when seriously shared with younger generations, is inevitably respected and becomes new again. Truly eternal. Great video.

I agree completely. What we can can hear is a technical mastered piece, but not a 'b' from the brilliancy of an interpretation. Student's work, clear, no phrasing, with none or with the limited emotions and depth. If this Mozart's CD was a pinnacle, his Chopin is even more apaling. Remember what was once said for the Alexander Brailowsky playing?

Interesting on this recording, pianist Christian Zacharias, who has performed Mozart piano concertos and recorded them aplenty, is CONDUCTING now. Never has Zacharias been on DG. Still young, while well practiced, Lisiecki gives a lifeless D minor. The orchestral ensemble is beautiful. Stingy on time 59 minues for a CD. The Elvira Madigan theme here is treated in too "dainty" a fashion. Try Brendel for a energetic rendition.

Scintillation is not Jan's thing but his understated graces get appreciation and deserve respect. Stan is trying to beat up on the snotty Brit but he seems to be doing his rhetorical rosary instead. A pretty dismal showing on the whole; a lack of supervision resulting in the silly trolls losing their way and forgetting how to behave.

A very pleasant and enjoyable video, but poor Jan is probably too young to realize that he was made to look like, in this video, Richard Clayderman, who also played this 'Elvira Madigan' music a lot. Besides their good looks and undoubted musicianship, Jan and Richard also share the genius of making the best use of their limited talent and skills as a pianist.

I never hesitate to collect fresh horse urine from a healthy animal to have enough on hand to wash down my fast food meals, am that crude, yet never disparage those spending hundreds of dollars for a bottle of wine. Following that reasoning. perhaps you should consider not using terms like effete snobs, pompous clowns, etc., to describe those who think Lisiecki is terrible, just because you can't hear the difference. He is touring Poland, my country now, and is driving us nuts, he's that.bad.

Mozart's music cannot rhyme with the world of mediocre boxes built on the site of destroyed Berlin. As, however, and almost all the rest, with rare exceptions, the cities of Germany. And I will never understand the German people, who refused to rebuild their country and instead turned it into a continuous, as they say in Russia, "sleeping area" (as the outskirts of cities where people live, but since many work in the central regions, their apartments return only for the night). In my opinion, this is a betrayal of their own cultural heritage and no Mozart will help here. I also live in a city that has suffered much during the war - in St. Petersburg, but you look at it and compare it with the current Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt am Main, etc., etc. Well, Lisetskiy is wonderful, of course! I would like to hear it in Russia!

...Yes and it seems to me that the video settings of Berlin - Alexanderplatz might be much more beautiful as the mainstream-greenhorn´s Mozart. But the issue is: do those pix have anything to do with the composer´s music at all? I think the 'Deutsche Grammophon' plays with the limits of kitsch and bad taste. One more cultural decline!
