Jane Hamon: Discernment - There Are More For Us Than Against Us (2 Kings 6:16)
Jane speaks with Elizabeth Tiam-Fook on 10/26/2021. Quotes: “We've got to learn how to watch in the Spirit and know how to discern what's taking place in people, places, and territories. In 2 Kings 6:16, when Elisha and his servant, were surrounded by the Syrian army, Elisha had a whole different perspective than his servant. The servant thought, "Oh my gosh, we're surrounded. We're going to be wiped out." But Elisha said, "Don't worry, there's more that are with us that are with them."
Be blessed.
Remember: you have been “blessed to be a blessing.” (Genesis 12:2)

I started operating or recognizing that I was operating in discernment well over 35 years ago. Those of us that have a gift of discernment or just that are sensitive to the Holy Spirit can probably all relate to perhaps walking into a room and suddenly you feel uncomfortable with a person - it kind of hits your spirit wrong - I wonder what that is?
I've learned to give language to the things that I'm picking up on, the things that I'm sensing, all the while challenging myself not to become critical or judgmental of people. In my early years of operating in discernment, I just wanted to shoot them all and tell God they died. I had very little grace, very little mercy. I got a prophetic word from Kim Clement way back when he first came to America. He said, “I've anointed you to see the snake and to see the wolf. I've called you to be a Watchman for this ministry and for the body of Christ.”
Now, I believe that Jesus has called every single one of us to come to a higher level of watching and praying - not just watching the news. We've got to learn how to watch in the Spirit and know how to discern what's taking place in people, places, and territories.
And the servant looked out the window and couldn't see what Elisha was seeing. So Elisha prayed for him and said, "Lord, open his eyes so that he may see." And when Elisha's servant's eyes were opened, he actually saw a completely different perspective about what was going on. While it was true in the natural that they were surrounded by the enemy, there was a greater truth that was supernatural in that there were angel armies surrounding the Syrian army.
That just changed the whole perspective. So in my book, “Discernment” I talk about discerning the times, discerning the spirit of God, discerning angels, discerning demons. We discern something that's operating in a fellow member in the body of Christ or somebody that's perhaps a wolf or a snake, like Kim Clement prophesied over me.
Bishop Hamon prayed, "Lord, we activate Jane’s gift to come to another level, to come to a higher place of operation and I charge her with that." I didn't feel any different, but the next day when I went to church, it was like the curtain was removed. The word revelation actually in the Greek is the word is apokálypsi, which means to remove the veil or to remove the curtain.
Paul said in Galatians 2:4, "Beware of false brothers that want to come in and try to cause trouble in the church." I started seeing all this stuff and I went back to Bishop Hamon about two weeks later and said, "Put your hands back on me and you take this back. I don't want this. I don't want this operating in my life," because it just felt so heavy and so negative.
He said, "No, I'm not going to do that. You're going to have to learn how to operate in this gift of the Holy Spirit." He challenged me and charged me to operate in a higher level to understand that gifts are given not to become judgmental or critical, but to give an opportunity for people to get set free to move to a higher place in their walk with Christ.
We are in a war right now over the voice - who is controlling the voice? There is God's voice, but then there's a lot of other voices that are out there in the world today. We've got to become very discerning about the voices that we're hearing, the voices that are being released into the atmosphere. Psalms 29:4 says "The voice of the Lord is powerful." It means the voice of the Lord is a force. We're warring for the souls of men and women, our families and our nation.
When we have eyes to see like Elisha did, we have a capacity to position ourselves differently to move forward, even in times of great spiritual warfare or great darkness.
