Oh of course! It was an opportunity for Ted to "redeem" himself in front of the camera for the last time, which he failed to do in my opinion. He used pornography as a convenient reason for his actions, and Dobson wanted to use this as an opportunity to speak against pornography, both got what they wanted out of the interview, and we were left with something rather ineffectual. I would have much rather listened to a final interview between Bundy and Bob Keppel or Bill Hagmaier who could have gotten more useful information out of him, but Bundy didn't want a "hard" interview just before his date with ol' Sparky so he picked a soft touch like Dobson.

I rewatched his interview there was a point where he didn't want to talk about the killings but he closed his eyes & did really creepy noises as though he was enjoying reliving it. He made creepy breathing noises. Someone in the comments time stamped it. He wasnt sorry at all he just conned this guy as he did with everyone else!

this was a very good press conference but i feel Bundy was manipulating by saying pornography contributed to him becoming a serial killer. millions watch porn and it doesnt cause them to be violent. he started as a peeping Tom and progressed from that. He was angry that his first love dumped him.

He was definitely manipulating him. That's why he picked him. Ted just didn't want seen as a bad guy. He was play the victim to get sympathy. It didn't work but clever on his part. And this guy believed Bundy. Just shows how clever and manipulative Bundy really was to people that fell for his tricks.

What wasn't mentioned was his very early life. His mother was unmarried and he thought his mother was his sister. The stigma of an unmarried mother and an illegitimate child would have been intense at that time. That very early part of his family and family life has an unconscious impact on him and his motivation. His grandfather was violent. The dark forces in the unconscious were exacerbated and exploded into his Jekyll and Hyde character. But it is not everyone whose early life was so fragmented turns out to be a serial killer, but it does explain some of the impactful behaviours. The understanding can stop someone else from behaving like this, but for his victims and their families it was and still is a nightmare. All we can learn is that we are all in control of our own behaviour. And we often need good guidance to get through the darkest times and to control darkest impulses.

I honestly thought his horrific crimes were oddly similar to how a drug addict behaves. Somehow, somewhere, someway the compulsion became action and once the compulsion was satisfied he could be “normal” again. Over time, he needed more and became more and more desperate to get it, and so he no longer cared if he got caught. I think he definitely wanted to be stopped, he intentionally left the bite marks on one of his last victims so that the police would know it was him.

Ted was desperate to relive his actions and found the best person to relieve those actions with. Dr Dobson was being used. I grew up listening to focus on the family. I know Dr. Dobson is a clinical psychologist. I’m sorry pornography doesn’t make someone murder. Ted probably couldn’t feel remorse. I believe had he been set free the very night of this interview, women would come up dead and bludgeoned.

I wish that instead of "feeding" Dobson's own obsession, Bundy had been asked about whether he (Bundy) would be judged for his crimes after his "date" with the electric chair. Leventry Beria, Stalin's head of secret police was also a horrendous murderer. When Beria was convicted and told he would be executed in a few minutes, Beria collapsed into a "convulsion of tears" begging for his life. Beria was so noisy that his executioner stuffed a rag into his mouth to shut him up. We automatically ASSUME that Bundy and Beria were both atheists and did not believe that they would be judged for their crimes. But the "proximity" of execution tends to "sharpen" the senses. One always wonders how some atheists are so absolutely secure in their non-belief. Perhaps they think that they should have been "stopped" by God and were not. Most atheists construct the world as a savage place that absolutely convinces that God could not possibly exist. But there are a lot of scientific factors that tend to suggest the possibility that God actually exists and that our world is suffused by free will. And that free will is both a blessing and a horror at the same time. But we wonder how these people can be so absolutely CONVINCED as to allow themselves to create massive crimes. The unedited version of Ted & Dobson? The only one I ever saw was the 30min on YT. I honestly can’t remember if that was the full version they showed after his execution. Probably is but it’s been so long ago. I think the unedited version was never released. Dobson did talk about a part where the lights dimmed and a snippet was shown of Ted smiling and making a comment about the electric chair was being tested. Dobson probably cut that out because it wasn’t Ted trying to cry or show remorse. I was tempted to contact him. He’s still alive, well and active on social media

@@caroldaronch1974 Yeah I have often wondered about the unedited version as well. It would be worth contacting him to see if he still has the footage and if so, whether he is willing to release it or not. Ted has been dead for over 30 years now, and I think enough time has passed that the world is more than ready to see it. I remember that segment where Bundy was laughing when the lights dimmed. Perhaps that was his way of trying to make light of his impending doom at the electric chair the morning after. Deep down I think he was petrified.
