There is so much that could be said, but I'll just say that Janet did an amazing job at not only developing this arc but also honestly conveying the future of it. I am certain it must have been such a difficult process/decision and its so natural for it to be difficult. Saying that these are "just characters" or "its RP" is easier for viewers but certainly very challenging for the streamer playing that role. Especially, when it is done sincerely as Janet did. As characters, both January and Link always had such an infectious synergy that they clicked instantly after their first meeting. Throughout the last week, during every interaction between the two, the level of respect and care they showed towards each other was evident even until the end. That just goes to say how amazing the two of you are as RPers, streamers and people. Thank you for everything and take your time to decide how you wish to take RP going ahead on your own terms, with the boundaries you set for yourself. 🌸💖 We're here to support you 🌻

i knew she would in some degree would be able to RP. but i wouldnt have thought its this good. the way she handle the police detainment is actually way better than most players in the server. some people aggravated, defensive, snitching, and all. she didnt, she didnt reveal ray's id, didnt reveal raia's. comply with the cops, and made the scene looks fun. oh we need more januarys

You've been so incredible during RP that it became easy to forget how new you are to it. The fact that rp hurt your feelings ooc is completely valid and understandable. Even though i was in chat spamming sad emotes, saying it's joever, and all of that, I hope you realize most of chat (the level headed ones at least) would way rather see you happy than try to rp something that makes you uncomfy. I think you've made a truly compelling and lovable character with January. I hope we get to see much more from her, but if not, that's okay too. Thank you for so many amazing streams.

this stream was really fun and i’m glad it ended on a good note despite the stress you went through. it’s very easy to get lost in rp and overwhelmed with situations even for people that have been doing this for years. we have to remember that we've only seen 2 weeks of january and ur still incredibly new despite being so amazing at it. serious or more real situations are part of rp and if you are not comfortable or ready to partake in that you don’t need to apologize bc these are your boundaries and you are still navigating with your character. there is still so much to explore and expand that i really hope this situation doesn't turn you completely off of rp (we are also addicted and invested) thank u for giving gta a go and know that january has a big space in our hearts and we will be supporting whatever road you decide to take her bc she's iconic ❤

I’ve been thinking a lot about what happened in this stream. I was one of the voices strongly encouraging you to make GTA a bigger part of your gaming experience. During this stream as in all your GTA streams I just smiled and smiled. For good reason as your RP skills were so creative and hilarious. What I was missing of course was how connected and immersed your experience was becoming. I didn’t understand for example how you felt during the kidnappings and of course during the later parts of the “therapy”. I smiled and smiled in this episode until I didn’t. When you expressed your honest feelings I was stunned for a moment and then I realized this had become extremely painful and not at all fun for you. It didn’t help that chat was ignoring your pleas to shut the F up. Whatever the future is for you in Los Santos please know that what you’ve created with the help of your old and new friends is something wonderful. Time and time again you surprised me with your creative and synergistic choices in response to the combined storytelling going on around you. You added so much to the entertainment quotient in that upside down city. Boundaries have been set by you based on traumatic experiences. Janet’s well being is a million times more important than her ability to role play the hell out of anything that gets thrown at her. I support any choice you make for your RP future and thank you for the incredible entertainment you’ve provided over the past weeks.

I hate when people says "It's just RP. It's just RP" like just because it's RP that your feelings should not be valid. When you invest your emotions and time into anything you will get Immersion, which is the quality of a piece of fiction that transports readers or viewers into the story world, making them feel as though they are actually there. Weather it's by reading a book Watching a movie or RP It's easy to immerse yourself into. And just because some people haven't immerse into the RP they shouldn't be telling other people who had, "It's just RP" "It's just a movie/book" Or "It's just a game" I feel sorry for those people because if they are in a relationship they might lack immersion and be like "Well, it's just a relationship" 😂😂😂

I knew she would be overwhelmed as soon as i started hearing their serious talks. Relationship rp is fun as long as its funny, silly and stupid. Like one example could be Eli Lum and Carmella. Also its kinda chat's fault too, how they became so parasocial about things. Like when Janet asked chat if she should invite Beverley to the friend's house, everyone in the chat was just saying "NOOO", like it would have been funny atleast but viewers got so parasocial. Its kinda understandable because the viewers are new to RP too. But great decision by her. Everyone in the group was so supportive.

Literally April's whole goal was to protect January from the stress that is relationship in Los Santos and she failed her sister miserably lol

In this particular case, I do not think it was the parasocial viewers. I feel like her chat did so well during this and was very understanding of the situation. Relationship RP can get overwhelming and she did the mistake of rushing into it without fully knowing its consequences. Every single person was against that relationship. Even the viewers were counting the days until it's over because it just gets real that fast. I'm glad she got to experience how immersive RP can be and hopefully she can move on to better things now.

Viewers not wanting a certain interaction w someone isn't them being parasocial but backseaters, the word parasocial is being thrown at everyone random these days.

Yeah I agree. I noticed most of the people in her chat are so parasocial like feeling entitled to make a decision for her. I noticed one long time sub of her that acts like they’re close with Janet and I also saw her frog hopping on other streamers defending janet as if she knows her personally.

•I don't think anyone was "at fault" for XChocobars getting too immersed in the Relationship RP for her own comfort: it's one of those things where everyone has vastly different comfort levels, and she happened to find hers and responded appropriately. XChocobars emotions reminded me of the time Fuslie was upset after April had to leave France behind on a CG heist --- sometimes emotions just overwhelm the player when the stakes suddenly escalate. -- it makes sense both OOC and IC, considering the interesting time January has had in Los Santos.

I am a new viewer who found you through GTA rp. I think you are extremely talented and I genuenly haven't laughed this much in a long time during any streams. Don't be too hard on yourself with rp and jumping into things you are unfamiliar with. Getting invested and immersed is part of the experience and you feeling intense feelings is very normal. Some rpers lean into those intense feelings and make them a very big part of their style of rp. Part of the experience is also figuring out what kind of things you like and dislike to do in rp and how much you want to do them. People are different and the ways of the rp are just as varied as the players are. Some like to stir drama or form social groups, some like the more "game" aspects of it all like doing crime together and some do like relationship rp. But it doesn't mean you have to enjoy or do everything yourself. And some enjoy an aspect of rp but only in a certain context. But honestly, good for you for setting healthy boundaries and it seems like you have found a really nice group of new friends who understand you entirely. If you find yourself getting really invested to an uncomfortable degree, taking breaks from time to time isn't a bad idea either. Talking with your friends who are more experienced with rp might also be a good idea for figuring our those boundaries. I truely hope the intense feelings didn't scare you away from the game because you truely are talented and I feel like there are still many cool adventures to be had in Los Santos. But of course your well being and desires should always come first.

Good idea on taking a break. January was a force to be reckoned with. I hope she makes a comeback soon. You can also consider roleplaying as a completely different character. An old widower, a hefty person, or something else out of the left field entirely. The weirder the character, the less of chance to get into these pseudo romantic rp situations.

Oof that was rough towards the end. Janet's a trooper tho, she stuck through it, I'm surprised she didn't immediately end stream when it got tough. It's kind of sad how everyone was saying "I told you so" about the relationship rp, but hopefully January wakes up again

Hope that therapy session doesnt deter you from doing rp again. Just bc relationship rp isnt for you/it got too serious doesnt mean you cant have fun with the rest of rp. Just remember that you can do whatever is the most fun for you and makes you comfortable in rp

Link's character was really hard to read from every other pov I've seen him in; the clown set-up kidnap is the only scene I've seen his ooc commentary and it's soo light-hearted fun fr, but idk whenever their character are together the banters doesn't feel like banter cuz the arguments felt more ooc. hence the fun vs dramatic ones; when it comes to the toxic callouts between the two, they somewhat get ooc to prove a point but most of the time janet seems to try more in-character with most of her responses, senz having to self-insert some into link to logically explain link's toxic tendencies and then there's january literally waving her red flags to everyone's faces. I was hoping link's character was an actual psychopath character and mainly, senz nailedsome parts of the psychopath bingo card into link. psychopaths as an exaggerated characteristic; can easily blend in and has violent tendencies, which is present in the character. long story short: their characters writing doesn't meet in the middle, janet gets emotionally taxed by january's actions (reverse self-insert) and senz's characterization in link from outside/other people's pov doesn't match with his intended impression since link the character feels inconsistent with the responses, like would much rather preferred is him having two alter/personalities cuz the earnest to nonchalant responses are whiplashes in a rows. I need more context from senz ooc pov tbh 😹 cuz it's really a confusing character rather then a complex one 👁️👄👁️ but it's a good coincidence that the january's arc still makes so much sense; they're both toxic red flag characters so when they went therapy, they realized how much they'll fit better as friends and Link being the logical ace character not being interested in anyone proved he can be in a relationship even if it's a short one, and january having to start as someone so hopeless romantic, jumping the gun with most of the people she meets will make her grow as she is now, so all is well now 💜
