In this video I'm resetting my prepper pantry, my working pantry, and cleaning my fridge. It's all a part of the same...getting to the rebuilding of my prepper pantry after using it for the past few months. This included taking an inventory so I would know what gaps there are in my prepper pantry and what I need to purchase to fill it in. When you are done here, check out this video where I show you how I built this three month prepper pantry. Here's the link: kzitem.info/news/bejne/on-wsqBvr5Vqqag.

In this day and age with social media taking our attention, whether intentional or not, we can compare. But we do have it so lucky. Hi Denise. Thank you for this video. I have a pantry half the size of yours and I have to be inventive to make it work. Luckily, I have a basement to store extras. We rotate regularly, so there can be a lot of running up and down the stairs. Good exercise. By the way - I love the way your hair turned out!
@homemakingwithdenise

Hahaha! I was Curly Sue after the appointment. The curls gradually drop and I got good hair to work with until the next Thursday (I go every week). The basement storage is great but try this to keep from running up and down stairs. Do an inventory in the extended pantry (basement). Plan your meals for the week. First…shop the working pantry for what you need. Next, take a basket to the basement and shop the extended or prepper pantry. Collect those things and take them up. Hopefully you are then only making that down and up cycle once a week for groceries. Let me know how that works.

We don't have very much counter space here so we just empty one shelf at a time, clean it, and put the items back on it before doing the next one. I'm a minimalist but my roommates are hoarders. They don't purge anything and keep adding more and more items. One person's collections are all over the house. Like huge toys blocking part the pantry and a hallway wall of DVDs. Hopefully I get another job soon so I can move out. I read faster than a person can speak it s I prefer listening to my KZitem subscriptions or my favorite songs. Most aren't played on the radio. It is hard to prep for Lee and Daniel. They get bored of foods. If I like a food, I like it all the time. My dream house is a metal house kit that has a canning pantry and walk-in closets in three of the rooms. I primarily wear long dresses and long skirts in mostly natural fibers since I'm allergic to polyester, nylon, and rayon. My skin rashes if I wear them for long periods of time. Hanging them reduces the wrinkling especially the 100% cotton dresses and anything linen.

I live in a two story house and the dining room is the only unused room so that’s where I keep it. No one but us hardly goes in there. No basement. Garage won’t work because we have weather extremes and then my husband has the garage door open in spring and summer while he’s out there working. This is the best spot for us. I do have a drape I put over it so you can’t see it from the windows.

I do think there is a level of blindness for men when they try to find things in the kitchen, at least in my home. I like the way you store things in containers like the labeled baskets. You can also store your seasonings and oils, and other small items in containers. That way you can pull out the entire container to find something. I recently bought some plastic boxes from Walmart to store my seasonings, and other supplies so I don't need to rummage in the deeper cabinets. I also use a sharpie to mark the best by date on all my packaged foods. It's easier to find what needs to be used up soon. It looks like you have a good organized supply.

Hi Linda. I always enjoy it when you stop by. You have a world of wisdom that you sometimes share. I think I will show my spice pantry. My condiment shelf is always an adventure. LOL! I need to wipe down my fridge shelves. I noticed a few spills, despite my attempts to be neat. That’s at least a monthly task. We had a dietary reset last year that resulted in A LOT of changes. Our current pantry is a lot smaller than it used to be and I’m ok with that. Less to keep up with - dietary and inventory wise. I’m currently working through the freezer and some of the older pantry items. Once we get all that dwindled down and my husband is back on a normal eating program, we’ll rework it again. It’s always in flux.

Hi Denise. The extended pantry in your dining room….how is that working out? Does it bother you that others see what you have? Do others touch it and move things around? Do you try to hide the shelves from prying eyes? I ask because the dining room appears to be the only place I can have my pantry, and I was hesitant to do it. Plenty of room, but not sure of letting it be seen.
@homemakingwithdenise

Gracie…I struggled with the same thing. Our dining room is our only unused space. No one goes in there. My husband rarely goes in there unless he’s looking for something on the prep shelves. My kids or grandkids will go in there and tease me about the mini-mart but no one bothers anything. I do have a drape to put over it so nothing is seen from the windows. It’s what’s working for us. Give it a try with one shelf and see how it works for you. Then you have info to work with.

Hi Queenie, I have a few things in the garage but not much.
