Zimmerman and Long had 87% and 88% passing percentages. The fans said they gave the ball away all game. There was the one Zimmerman pass straight to the opponent in front of his own box, resulting in the goal.

Gonna stop midway and respond to help the algurythm. 👍. This loss has to fall slightly on the players bc obviously they are the ones trying to execute out there. That’s some low hanging fruit to choose for the blame tho. The origin of this which I And maybe you guys have bc identified is Gregg’s over Reliance on mls players that DO NOT belong on the pitch if we want to COMPETE at the highest level, as well as HIIS inability to select a formation that will produce the best performances from players like Tyler and Christian and gio and musah( who are, when in form our keys to success) his constant desire to only play a 433 with Adams as the lone 6 spits in the face of all the success Adams has had at Leeds along with Aaronson. Adams was benched at RB bc they played with a lone 6, his true game impact happens when he has a pareallel midfielder otherwise he’s ineffective on the ball and in Gregg’s system always presses alone on re starts leaving a huge gap in defensive midfield area when the opposition can break the press. In addition, Gregg’s inability to realize that if he wants to build front the back he needs brooks and ream along with richards, not long or even Zim is so ignorant and narrow minded that it’s hard to fathom how he is still our coach heading into a World Cup. A team needs and identify and players to fit that and Gregg oontuuies to ignore this huge component.

An L Tri fan saying the US is overhyped, while maybe true to some extent, will always come off as an attempted dunk...and an ironic one at that given there is no other team in the world that has expectations more disconnected from reality than Mexico (except for maybe England).

bro no Mexican is expecting anything from Mexico this world cup, every comment you see is a troll who doesn't know anything about the game. If you go to Mexico and talk to people from the mother land you would hear the truth, they criticize them over there more than here in the States. A lot of Mexicans realize that the US is playing better than we are and arguably have better players than we do, the people you hear saying that are just trolls or kids trying to argue. The over hype you see from Mexico fans is from the media here in the US, Mexican media in Mexico paints a different more realistic picture about us as a footballing nation.

@@Motinhox I've noticed that. I've also noticed all of the blame has been heaped on Tata (which isn't anything new. when the players lose 7-0 to Chile for example, somehow it's the coach's fault). No one overhypes their average talent more than Mexico...talk of Diego Lianez as the next Messi (which granted has stopped) is a perfect example.

I don’t think the average USMNT fan was disrespecting Japan, they have a good team w quality scattered all across Europe. I think the mls media guys like Tom Bogert were projecting bc the root of the problem was exactly that; an mls cb pairing. Turner, Zimmerman and Long couldn’t get out of the high press. When the ball finally managed to reach the midfield our midfielders were back to goal and the Japanese players cut out passing lanes so effectively by outnumbering which causing all those give aways. We hardly got the ball to our attacking players and when we did, they were isolated because the midfield was still in the defensive third. This Japan team got it right, but we massively underperformed.

I don’t think this is USA arrogance, more like USA having rightful expectations for the level caliber of players that we do have, and those expectations not being met YET AGAIN. Due to mostly coaching issues I think. Our players absolutely have the ability to beat Japan. That’s not a slight against Japan either. It’s just that time and time again, we can’t get the job done and underperform. Why is that? We’ll be better figure it the fuck out before 2026

If you watch the match between Japan and Peru, you will find that Japan is no different from Holland or Italy. If we play at our home stadium in Japan, we may be able to beat Argentina.
