Minor detail to note. Pasmo and Suica are only distributed in the Tokyo area. If you decide to take a connection flight to another part of Japan your IC card would have a different name, like Icoca and Sugoca. All of these cards can be used throughout Japan universally, so don't worry if your card doesn't say Suica or Pasmo.

I have a feeling most things people talk about in videos like these are untrue, because it talks about Japanese people like they're some alien hivemind. I've never been to Japan but I've seen videos about "essential things" to know about my own country, and it's always things that are just flat out untrue or highly exaggerated. Like it being "rude" to talk on a train or something. Like, yeah, it's a litte weird, but ultimately I as an individual could not care less. There's also been videos saying tipping is rude in my country (same as Japan) despite the fact that if you offered a tip, people would still take it. Foreign countries aren't alien planets like Americans believe. Things are, on an individual person level, ultimately not very different.

Trash cans are rare due to a chemical attack that happend in the subway systems. People hid really harmful stuff in them and thusly trash cans were pretty much banned in most places. It's so things can't be hidden and people have more chance of noticing something wrong and get to safety quickly. Nothing similar has happend since.
