The ending is so important. Not a lot of travel Japan channels offer the issues of tourism to the country. I try to spend 3-6 months a year in Japan. I love the country. But I’ve also realized over tourism is ruining some spots. Tourism is very welcome. It keeps places open. Over tourism causes infrastructure issues for locals and tourist alike. Last time I went to Japan I noticed many tourists don’t even bother to TRY to observe local customs or societal rules. If you’re going to Japan please do some research beforehand. Respect the country and its people. You are a GUEST. And try to go to more areas. I saw so many beautiful locations in japans country side that I never would have seen if I just went to the generic “top 10 things to do in Kyoto”

very helpful, i'm planning my trip to Japan for October 2024 the limited express fares for trains is a little confusing i'd love a bit of a break down on how the fares work.
@Jack-iy3cm
9 ай бұрын
You can search “jr types of tickets” and you’ll find answers. But I’ll try to explain: You need a basic fare ticket for all train travel. When you take a limited express train (this includes Shinkansen), you need a limited express ticket, in addition to the basic fare ticket. There are two types of limited express tickets: reserved seat and non-reserved seat. In addition, there are various discounts for the above mentioned tickets and there are discounts tickets that act both as a limited express ticket and basic fare ticket, which include the Japan Rail Pass, smart-ex and Shinkansen e-ticket.

Hi, 🦮🦮🦮May I share the most important news you will ever hear? God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua Ha' Mashiach) from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. He was put into a tomb for 3 days, and then Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must all sincerely receive Jesus to be a true child of God. It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you genuinely believe on Christ Jesus and truly receive Him today, before it is too late

Does the decline in demand for 24/7-open food places mean that current Japanese college graduates are no longer accepting to work for any companies which promote presence over productivity? Companies which are nowadays designated as black companies? A healthy work-life balance makes for a better economy and to "make" new people to keep the economy healthy.

The railpass value is only there if you like trains enough to spend half the time on them. It has some value in "station hopping" as the "entry fee" on each fare can add up. The other downside is that you'll still have to pay for non-JR lines, like the Toei and Metro lines, as well as other private lines, and since a lot of _those_ lines are the one you'll do the most station hopping on, the JR pass is really limited. I felt like the prices only make sense if the 7 day pass was increased to 10 days, the 14 day pass was increased to 20 days, and the 21 day pass was increased to 30 days. Because the pass now only really works out if you get the green JR pass and ride the shinkansen every 2 or 3 days.

I have a question: My friend & I are planning a huge 3 month trip to Japan in 2025 travelling the country seeing as much as possible from the most Northern Point, Cape Soya in Hokkaido to the Southern most point, Haturama in the Okinawan Islands. For the main bulk of our travels especially since neither of us can drive we’ll be using the Train especially the Shinkansen (as well as Buses, Boats & the odd Domestic Flight I Imagine too) and from what I’ve seen on various sites the Japan Rail Pass only goes up to 21 days so will my friend & I have to put money aside to buy 3 Japan Rail Passes each for our 3 month trip or do you have any alternative ideas?

I wouldn’t recommend the Jr rail pass if you are planning 3 month vacation. Only get it if you are planning to travel a lot by train. With a 3 month. You should buy flight tickets and stay at that place for couple days. Those days would add up and go over the 21 days. Do the 21 day after you discovered all the places in Japan first then you know what routes you want to do in your itinerary

Hi I still have the old Suica Card so can I use when traveling to Japan?
@MegLog_JAPAN

As I said in my video, if it's valid within 10 years after last use, yes.

@@MegLog_JAPAN Do you know how exact the 10 year rule is? I've used my Suica card last in April 2016, and I want to get back in 2026. But I am not sure it will be befor or after April. And if it's no langer valid, is there anything I can do to make it valid again?

I have the regular Suica bought in 2017. I last used it in early 2023. So does the card expires in 2027?

I believe it's 10 years from the last use, so it should expire in 2033

@@gimmeadollr That was what I understand from what she said. That is why I asked. So can someone confirm this?

Can we use the ICOCA in riding the bullet train?
@MegLog_JAPAN
9 ай бұрын
No really, the ICOCA card cannot be used for travel on Bullet Trains (Shinkansen) in Japan. To use the Bullet Train, you will need to purchase separate basic fare and limited express tickets. The ICOCA card is a versatile tool for various forms of public transportation and retail purchases across Japan, but it does not extend its service to the Shinkansen.

Amazing video! also want to add, Yodobashi stores are the best and affordable places to get a SIM-card if you have not pre-ordered it before your travels! We struggled alot to get a SIM-card beacuse we are not using pocket wifi!

So if we are only going to travel to the cities you mentioned in your example..would it be better to just buy standard bullet train ticket in person on the day? Thank you
@MegLog_JAPAN

If you would like to get in shinkansen, you can get it on that day. But make sure that it's very crowded on holidays like GW, New Year's Day, and Obon.
