My wife and I are visiting Japan in September from the UK. We are staying in Osaka for 4 nights. We might ride that train to Kyoto. I love all the different types of trains in Japan. I subscribed and look forward to watching more of your videos. You might give me more ideas of different trains to try.

If you try Aoniyoshi, I recommend you book earlier because I booked 5 days before the Aoniyoshi day and only 2 seats available!

It is nice to see that Japan has various trains. In US there are only two types of passenger train commuter and long distance travel.

I like how trains can be used as an alternative of transportation to go from one place to the other instead of relying on Uber, and that’s if you don’t have a license.
Oh lovely new content thank you Sakura :-) i have a question, if looks likes i will move to japan in october. options are likely yokohama or hammamatsu. what do you think would be better for ex pat? i suspect closer to tokyo. great content xxx

There are similar city names, Hamamatsu in Shizuoka and Hamamatsucho in Tokyo. If Hamamatsu, it’s far away from Tokyo and Hamamatsucho is center of Tokyo, so the rent is very expensive. I recommend Yokohama, it’s beautiful city even though a little far from Tokyo.

@@SakurasSoloTravel-iq2sr i meant hammamatsu 3 hours on bullet train, not the one close to tokyo. thank you, rent is not the issue :-) i also thought yokohama better . anyway, thank you x

I booked this train for November. Can I pay the base fare with a suica/pasmo card instead of getting the ticket at the machine?
