As a Hongkongers, I already know almost 80% of the written way of Japanese kanji and the on-yomi are sometimes easy to guess but kun-yomi is in another level🫣, and also sometime particle and keigo are really hard for me

As an indonesian, our language is so easy to read, learn, and use, and most importantly, it also works.. thats why looking at chinese and japanese i feel like you guys made it really hard on yourself, even for things that should be much easier.. and why you do even brag about it? By all means that isnt a good thing.. it is really silly to see so many people struggle just to write or read simple meaning things, just because the kanji are uncommon, or the pronounciation is wrong, etc and thats really stupid.. that never happened on us indonesian, you guys should really revolutionize and simplify your own language

Yeah, in Indonesia they should erase Javanese Language, Sundanese Language, Bataknese Language since you know, it's only make things hard for Indonesian. They just need Indonesian Language, why bother with all these Local Language lmao

@@andra4453 you can use whatever local language that you want, but if its too much hassle for you, you can get by just by using indonesian in indonesia, of course you wont get much deeper relationship with local language speakers but for sure you could always read and comprehend anything written and spoken in indonesian language without worrying about whether you could read the character or not, or the honorific is correct or not.. to be honest japanese culture is unique but to learn their language is just not that worth it

@@flyingdoctor90 Just like any language, one of the reason we use it is because it's our culture. It wasn't only about functionality, if it's only so "it's not a hassle" then we don't even need Indonesian Language, we can just use English Language. Also, while it's true japanese language(or any logogram for that matters) can be very hard for us who use alphabet, the amount of strokes/line itself isn't that different and these kanji is easier for them to read compared to english. Everyone will struggle learning even their first language, but once you get the hang of it everything is pretty much the same. edit : Also "worth it" is defined differently for each person, i personally find learning Japanese, Mandarin, & English is worthwhile

@@andra4453 oh really its easier for them? Just ask them then, just type kanji quiz on youtube, and you could see so many japanese struggling even for some mundane words just because the kanji is uncommon.. fyi korean used to implement chinese characters too in their language but since they moved to hangul, they dont have to face that kind of problem anymore.. and so many japanese videos on youtube complaint too about using keigo, well it could be worthwhile for you but just be honest aside for trying to watch anime and work in japan, is there much use for foreigner to learn japanese? Its okay if its learnable in 100-300 hours but for 1000++, and having to memorize 3000-10000 characters, i dont think so..

@@flyingdoctor90 You don't even need more than 5000 kanji for average person though. It's not like Indonesian knows all the vocabulary in Indonesia, just like Japanese we literally use english word instead of indonesian for some word since we simply what it means in native. Also if anything, i've heard more western people who have a hard time since how Taught-Indonesian language is so different than the actual spoken one because of how many slang and how wr stay stuff
