Bro this Singapore Hour is working so well (brought back good memories of Japan Hour), it's very easy to digest and also fun since you're bringing a Japanese friend along too. Keep this up, I know this is a lot of work but the format is really fun to watch, especially the interactions with locals and asking them light questions. Keeping the Japanese conversations flowing throughout the video makes it more interesting too.

I think this is one type of video that you may want to consider putting out on a regular basis, interspersed with your regular content. This reminds me of my late grandfather. He was known as the bird man of Toa Payoh and appeared on the National Day poster in the 80s with his bird cage and his bird. ❤ We grew up with birds everywhere- in the bathroom, the toilet (separate rooms), the bedrooms, living room, kitchen… I would watch the birds bath and they were chirping all the time. He fed them lovingly and truly was passionate for them. Bird songs filled my life as a child and I’ll always be thankful for that.

Ghib's video today is omoshiroyi ne❤️. When I saw the words "SG Hour", I started laughing bcoz here in SG, Japan Hour is so well known that the words are almost "patented" for the Japan travel program alone. The funny part is there's even a male voice over who sounded very much like the narrator in Japan Hour! Aiyoh the "copying" is so real and funny😂. Me wondering if that's Ghib san or is it another person 🤔? I must take my hat off to Ghib san. How and where on earth did he always find his guests who have freshly landed yet they do not behave like traditional Japanese bcoz they are not only young, but sporting and brave. I mean very different image from the japanese that I used know. Today, Ghib's guest, young lady some more, dare to try the durian and the chicken legs! Oh my, as a local myself, I don't eat chicken legs! Overall today, Ghib recommendations to add to the travel guidebook are good and authentic. Yes the Bishan AMK park is a good recommendation. Been there, it's a beautiful, quiet sanctuary away from the city noise. There are other places around SG to be added to the guidebook too (example Coney Island, Chek Jawa, old churches, lighthouses, Sungei Buloh where one can catch the seasonal migratory birds, must bring bino). I like Ghib's ending part. I think he summed up the essence of sight seeing in SG very well. That is, the real stealers/ surprises are within pockets of SG and not the usual touristy areas. Thanks for the hard work again... esp on a scorching hot day🥵.

OMG!!! I'm a fan of Japan Hour especially the local rail series where the hosts can only go to places recommended by locals and be officially entered as part of the 10 not to missed attractions. Every time I watched those episodes, I often wish that it would be nice if Singapore can have something like but I dismissed it because Singapore is too small and homogenous. You have proven me wrong and really made my day!!! Thank you Ojisan ...Thank you so very much!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this video. 🙏👍

Ghib, this is one of your best episode. the very successful recreation of the Singapore's version of Japan Hour is refreshing and it looks almost like the real show!. and some of the place i haven't even been before... the bamboo pole of hanging clothes is a fast disappearing sight. now new flats and upgraded flats (including mine) have changed to the new type of roller type... maybe another 30 yrs it might disappear already... Last time playground used to be filled with sand, and when it rains i can make sand castle, hill and flowing streams, now all replaced with rubber pad....

Thanks for featuring this part of AMK!! This part of AMK an integral part of my childhood, I studied at Bethesda (where the aunty recommended Teochew food) for kindergarten and basically grew up living in Kebun Baru over the weekends. My relatives still live there (and in fact, they also run a stall at the hawker that sells basically every food you can think of). This is really a part of SG that people wouldn’t feature and it’s really refreshing to watch it! ✨

Your comment at the end about the best part of SG being outside the city was totally right. When I lived there and also when I visited last year, it was the locals that made my day. Inviting me to lunch after yoga class randomly, and inviting me (treating me) to cendol in Yisun after randomly meeting at Sembawang Hot Springs. Even the taxi drivers were so friendly on my last trip and when I lived there. That's why one day I'm definitely going to live there again! Btw Bishan Park is definitely the best park and I used to cycle around there and up through Ang Mo Kio and along to Punggol. Love that route!

I already registered for your concert and I can tell you more about older stuff about Singapore during then. Hiyori san reaction is very cute. She will be staying in Singapore for a while then? One thing about Ang Mo Kio or just AMK, we have a few Town Council here. The one you visited is around block 300+ and the dragon playground had changed quite a fair bit over the years. It's had been rebuilt as well. In the past, it's had sand and some swings as well. Well the playground is so close to my house.

I used to stay in Jurong & my childhood favourite playgrounds include the dragon playground, the clown clock house, the watermelon and metal elephant. There used to be so many interesting & fun playgrounds but due to wear & tear plus changing it from sand pit to cushioned mats type they were tore down & replaced.
