I'm really loving all these animal related cafes that Japan has, namely the rabbit ones. It's such a lovely notion that you can sip or tea or coffee or what have you and snuggle with a cute, cuddly animal~

Sorry but nope, this is taking it too far. Cats and dogs sure as long as they have space to get away, they're domestic animals. Owls are not and need to SLEEP during the day undisturbed.

+The Fur Monsters Actually most owls tend to 'power nap' through the day and the night. Most of the owls shown here are most active at dawn and dusk. These owls would have all been raised by people pretty much from hatching and since they've always been fed during the day they will be active during the day. That being said, I think these owl cafes are a really bad idea. Owls aren't social creatures or in any way domesticated so they could very easily get stressed in this environment. From experience they normally don't like being touched the way people were in this video at all. The number of owls involved makes me skeptical about their welfare- to keep an owl properly happy takes a LOT of work. Finally, there's the safety of visitors. No one seems to be wearing gloves and even the smaller mainly insect eating owls can inflict pretty serious damage to your hand. The larger eagle owls could break my hand in multiple places THROUGH an eagle glove if they really wanted to.

Those animals must be so sad. It's depressing. You're contributing to their sadness, to the killing and capture of these animals in nature, by visiting those shitty places.
