To put it simply she accidentally destroyed a soybean Farm and she was blamed for it and hunted down and beat up by Reimu the Priestess for something she did by accident because of her power to grow as large as a mountain to pretty much sum it up suika is a klutz😂
@grimmreapermk2315

Suika is a little oni girl she's not violent at all she just happens to create goofy little accidents while she's goofing around like an idiot she's actually rather funny and really rambunctious when she does get riled up she does tend to get a little carried away she does like to fight from time to time but she only fights in an area she knows she wouldn't hurt other people if she happens to get riled up and things start to get out of hand and the funniest thing about her all you do is give her sake and she will be your friend although she does like the party really hard she often drinks people under the table which is hilarious😂

Ok, I think I get it. For DECADES the word " Yokai" was broadly translated, for some reason, as Goblin in the west. Those of us who are into Japanese Folklore know about this. Video games in the 90s and books etc would call all Japanese monsters as some form of "goblin". This character is apparently an oni or a namahage?( thus the dislike for the soy beans) So she's a Japanese Goblin.

Yokai : can be say like some myth "thing" in japan from their perspective. Oni itself mean demon tho, idk where this goblin come from too 😅
@princeblackelf4265

@@CarelessOkuu because Oni fit broadly under the yokai umbrella term so they still get wrapped up in it, I am just glad that in modern times western translations just use the word yokai or even specific names of things like Oni, Kappa, etc instead of trying to find a western equivalent

@@BenersantheBread I thought Tengu were a type of bipedal, intelligent, violent bird demon's that have staffs and wear adornments like a type of monk. Though, that might just be in the video game Nioh. I feel like I've seen Tengu elsewhere that were similar though.

her name is Suika Ibuki from Touhou 7.5: Suimusou ~ Immaterial and Missing Power and she's obsessed with sake. she always carries this gourd container that has infinite sake in it and she doesn't stop drinking. no joke, that's why some of the lyrics especially the first verse references Green Chartreuse, partying, and being happy, because that's what she feels when she's drinking. that's why she's acting so weird, and yeah she's an Oni and i think she's also one of the four devas of Gensokyo (the place where Touhou games usually takes place). her ability is to manipulate the density and sparseness of anything, and that's how she 'broke the moon' in IaMP.

Wow, you weren't kidding, this song really is catchy. I watched another version of the song that's not quite so high pitched, and realized there is a lot of English in the lines that I didn't catch before. Maybe that was why it was so hard for you to understand some of the lyrics?
