Do Japanese refer to rice wine as 日本酒 (Japanese Rice Wine) as you go to the store you order しゅ? can anyone explain to me exactly how you would order Japanese Rice Wine at a bar in Japan? In America we call it さけ, for some reason i dunno why that became the thing, but in japan its しゅ? or 日本酒 (にほんしゅ)?

Generally, we call Japanese Rice Wine "Nihonshu" in the store. The image of the name sake is all alcohol as beer, wine, shocyu and sake in Japan. Thanks you so much.
