This skill and technique of preparation, combined with the whole, transcends the culinary artform and grips me with fascination. My attention is rapt with every subtle detail and I am filled with a sense that I too am the hands the prepare, the mouth that consumes. I particularly appreciate the quiet nature of this video, and the careful display of the Lionfish throughout the process; it is apparent this fish was delivered into the hands of a true artist. The apex of this video is repeated through multiple completed dishes, displayed and delicately consumed; it fills me with the sensation that I am taking each bite. Consuming this video with my senses, I have a deepened appreciation for the life of the Lionfish, as well as the artforms involved in expertly using it. Thank you for this delightful presentation!

I've had deep fried lion fish before and it was good. Very mild fish, where I live lion fish are an invasive species so they make for a nice after Dive dinner, add on sea urchin/uni it's just delicious. Only down side is the fillets are so tiny an ya gotta be really careful processing them.

Lion Fish! a beautiful looking fish , but not realy tasty , don't know about Japan , but in some countries i've visited it was considered as a pest that was methodically killed from time to time because they multiply fast and endanger other species of sea dwellers , they did't have any commercial value whatsoever till recently , eating them now is trendy , probably because of their infamous poisonous fins reputation
@justinallenlindley9796
5 жыл бұрын
Actually the trend of eating them comes from a point of conservation, they're a highly invasive species and they need to be handled, what better way than encouraging a taste for them amungst a nation known for eating nearly anything that comes from the sea?

A professional filleting fish should get every bone, but the amateur should aim to at least get all the big ones. Fish differ when it comes to bones, so in some cases they are also edible if prepared correctly (like sardines etc.). You can feel the bones with your fingers even when your eyes doesn't spot them, so use all your senses when picking out the bones.
