When I was incarcerated at Billerica House of Corrections (MA), I got a job working in the kitchen. Started at $4/day (10-11 hour shift) for general workers, but you could get "promoted" to cook or other special positions. I got promoted to "milk guy" earning $6/day. The Hood milk truck came 2x a week to deliver milk crates, and it was my job to store all the milk in the walk-in refrigerator and count the correct number to send up to each housing unit at mealtime. This job allowed me a TON of freedom and movement throughout the facility. If I were really motivated I probably could have escaped on the milk truck.

That's not what it means. Non-Profit is a specific way a company is organized that requires them to spend the money they generate and do not "profit" like a company owner does when they are in the black. This is generally achieved by the "the boss/bosses" only getting a salary and have to reinvest the "profit" back into the company or use it philanthropically. It doesn't need to be a social cause. For example I can create a non profit fund raising company that does technology research, and no, the technology doesn't have to be grounded by any social framework or cause. For example OpenAI, founders of chatGPT was a non profit. There was no social basis for what they were doing, and don't say AI is beneficial for society so therefore it is, because by that metric every undertaking is a social endeavour

Spending $300 a month definitely isn't broke, when I was inside most guys were making ~$10.50 a week on a working unit.

Yo brotherhood. I enjoy ur channel. To answer your self question earlier; Not for profit organizations are run by founders who basically set their own salary out of the total pool. Some do the most for people and least for themselves, but others take advantage of the system and make more money than they help with. It's important to look into the owners of any NPO before giving them cash. ✌️ from the 505 Shout out from Santa Fe and Albuquerque! Congrats on blowing up on here bro. God bless.
