This guy makes every team he plays on a lot better! On offense he is absolutely a dynamic player and a great "floor general" who can quickly get everyone on the same page and in the right place on the court to execute plays. In spite of his height, Jared Harper can create open shots for his teammates with relative ease, he can drive it inside and lay it up or kick it out to the perimeter, he can blow past just about everyone that guards him with his elite speed/quickness, he has developed a very reliable mid-range pull-up shot, he is superb at recognizing open lanes for alley-oops and then places the ball perfectly at the basket for a teammate to complete them, he is very good at finding holes in the defense and recognizing match-ups where there is advantage that he can exploit, he is a super-reliable free throw shooter, he is a confident and reliable ball handler bringing the ball up the court, he is great at creating contact in a number of ways to draw fouls, he seems to enjoy getting assists as much as he does scoring points, and he can shoot 3's at a high rate, with his effective range extending to damn-near half-court! On defense he is also a very good player. Harper has very active hands to get steals and deflect passes, he can be effective guarding players much taller than him without fouling, he can press the opposing PG from baseline to baseline without getting winded for extended periods of time, he is great at driving his defensive assignment into his help inside when needed, he is great at moving around or thru screeners, he is willing to take charges whenever possible, and he can get back on defense faster than about anyone in the league. I'm really not sure why he has not been given an honest chance in the NBA with meaningful minutes in real games.... He is the kind of guy that you want to have the ball in his hands in the closing seconds of a tight game every single time. He thrives under pressure, and he is NOT afraid to take the shot that wins or loses the game at the last second.
