And that's why people were booing him, because he didn't show some backbone and stick with the club and build something, and people perceive that he took the easy way out. The fans will let you know what they think whether you like it or not. It was no different with Goodes, people booed him because they thought he handled a situation poorly and let a 13 year old girl get the better of him, it was absolutely nothing to do with him being aboriginal until the media made it so.

@@WayneCareyTruthHurts What would I say to them? Probably nothing to Horne-Francis, his footy is doing the talking for him and as far as Goodes is concerned, I don't know the man but I certainly don't like the way his situation was handled by the media and the AFL. If you repress people and attempt remove their ability to express themselves you create an undercurrent of hatred and playing up the race card only served to create more of a divide amongst people. To be honest, I don't think the AFL could have given two shits behind closed doors, they simply seen it as an opportunity to get behind Goodes and appear sympathetic to the Aboriginal cause because it served their agenda to make the organisation seem more PC. I'm off on a bit of a rant here, but Australia has a terrible habit of trying to overprotect people at the cost of basic freedoms and if the AFL and the media continue down this line they're in danger of allowing regulations to seep in that will have a very detrimental effect on the fabric of the game and the psyche of fans. You can't take away people's right to express themselves just because it offends some someone, and if you do, you've gone down a _very_ dangerous road.

I agree with that.. In many cases people are made *victims* and they happily go along with it.. That only became a "racial issue" when the media portrayed it as one

The club has gone backwards since he left. Do you expect him to waste years of his career especially considering talent like him comes along once every 15 - 20 yrs

@@mysticmike9125 It's got nothing to do with what I think of him, this is about why he was being booed. Shining a light on it only makes it worse, all he had to do was put his head down and play good footy and people will move on, and they did.
