I've looked at the footwork the entire time, what a beautiful technique, camera angle and gorgeous fucking pedal, that was impressive man, respect.

I’m a HUGE JR fan, he’s an insane guitarist and is IMO one of the best of his generation. That said, people should give Luke so much more credit. This song is at 210 BPM and he’s going INSANE the whole way through. Plus getting that time right is insane. Mad props to YOU for covering this bro.

Actually its 173 bpm. I bought the note transcription so I know. Your point still stands though, it's an insane song to play

Hey man, love your playing, Tendinitis is awesome, I transcribed it myself, but I’m veeery far from being anywhere near you. I have a TD-27 that I recently expanded with a CY-13 as a stack and was wondering what your stack and splash cymbals are! Thank you :)

Thanks dude! It’s an insane track, the amount of prep time to get this cover together was pretty nuts. All my samples are from Superior Drummer, I use a combination of the SD2 and SD3 libraries. The splash is the 10” Zildjian ZHT China splash from SD3, and the stack is the 16” Sabian HHX evolution O-zone crash/18” Sabian HHX Chinese from SD2!

@@brettseaton7830 SD makes lots of sense, the sounds are killer!!! I have been practicing the song at 75% speed and still struggle with the ending, it‘s just too crazy. What pads are the sounds assigned to? My guess is a CY-12 for the splash, a CY-14 for the china and something for the stack? The setup seems to work quite well!

@@hannesdrumss The part that I spend the most time on was the double Kick pattern in the section after the first “chorus”. Had a hell of a time getting it clean where it switches to the upbeat pattern on the stack. the splash is the CY-12 between my hats and left hand crash, the China is the CY-14 on my far right, and it’s a little hard to see just because of the camera angle, but underneath between my China and ride there’s a second CY-12 that I have the stack assigned to

@@brettseaton7830 I agree, the kick patterns in this song are ridiculous! I also struggle with the weird pattern he repeats throughout the the song where he plays two bars of sextuplets followed by that WEIRD kind of left lead pattern. It's something that feels very WEIRD to me, but it's getting better! Also, thanks for the info. I've never really considered the CY-12 as a splash, it seemed a bit too big - but I'll think about it! Also, it's amazing to chat with others who are into the same music, play the drums and play Roland! So good! I followed your account on IG, let's stay in touch :)

@@hannesdrumss absolutely. Luke Holland comes up with some insane patterns. I lead with my right hand mostly but I’m actually left handed, it has much better control and form than my right, so any weird lefty stuff comes fairly naturally to me. I initially wanted something smaller for my splash as well, but the next step down from the 12 was the 8, and that was a little too small. Though next to the cy-15’s I use for crashes the 12 feels like a good size Absolutely man! Love to hear from other like minded drummers!
