My sincere request to you is, whenever possible please make some videos on basics on database and how these are being configured/implemented in spring boot/ microservices. I've come across lot of questions on Database as I'm from java background. Thanks in advance 🙂

Hey hi, first of all I would like to appreciate your work. I have one doubt about hashmap, the hashmap is not going to store the data sequentially means when 1st bucket is full it will save upcoming data in 2nd and then 3rd and so on till the initial size of hashmap. This is not going to happen as because in which bucket to save the data depends on key and the hashcode of that key will gives us index of bucket. So how hashmap know loadfactor?
@mayuryadav1561
2 жыл бұрын
Hey hi, actually I am not able type more than that so i reply on my comment, so my question is How hashmap calculate the loadfactor as per my scenario?
Thanks a lot mayur. That's how you can modify default load factor of 0.75.
@vinayreddy3641
2 жыл бұрын
@@mayuryadav1561 The initial capacity of the HashMap is the number of buckets in the hash table. It creates when we create the object of HashMap class. The initial capacity of the HashMap is 24, i.e., 16. The capacity of the HashMap is doubled each time it reaches the threshold. The capacity is increased to 25=32, 26=64, and so on.

@CodeDecode

It was just an example Padma 🙂. I can't draw 15 16 buckets so sticked to 8 for example. It's capacity is variable though. You can adjust it with constructor while creating your map

Hi , I follow your videos regularly and your videos are very much helpful. I request you to please continue the series with advanced /difficult java questions . Since Hashmap entries are stored in LinkedList/Tree Node and bucket just hold the starting reference of Node and also HashMap works on the basis of hashing and and bucked index is calculated as hashcode of key %bucket_size, so there is no way hashmap will be full anytime. a) What is the need of resizing it then? Also once resized the bucket index would have to be adjusted. b) While copying how index is adjusted? could you please explain more on it.?
