The story of Jaws 3-D takes place and was filmed at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida. Jaws 3-D is the third installment in the Jaws movie franchise. We take the kids all over SeaWorld Park and make sure to make dinner reservations at Sharks Underwater Grill, SeaWorlds upscale dinning experience that get guests close to all glass windows that look into the shark tank. This restaurant was Neptune Room, the underwater lodge in the movie Jaws 3. Neptune Room was decorated in 80's décor and a lot of key scenes in the movie. Like, when actress Bess Armstrong tries to convince the park owner that they caught the baby shark and the mom is still inside the park. In Neptune Room is also where Jaws 3 characters get their first look at the shark and what they are up against.
The real SeaWorld restaurant, Sharks Underwater Grill has changed its look over the years. It still has its wall of floor to ceiling windows that look into the shark tank. However the décor now looks more like an underwater sea cave. The restaurant has a wonderful kids menu with all the kid favorites. Kids meals also end with shark sundaes. A scoop a ice cream, chocolate sauce, whip cream and a blue jelly shark on top. The regular menu is upscale and better than most theme park food.
After dinner, our next stop you can see through the glass windows. We find our way behind the restaurant to the underwater tube walkway for shark and fish viewing. This is also a great filming location for the movie Jaws 3. This is where tourists and a guide get stuck underwater in this viewing tube when the shark rams it. "Daddy look at the fish".
Next stop is the stingray touch tank. Here guests can put two fingers into the shallow tank and feel the soft backs of gliding stingrays. However in the 1983 movie Jaws 3-D this was the holding tank of the first shark caught, the baby shark, that eventually died in this tank.
We then went to the final location in the pond where Cindy and Sandy the dolphins jump up at the very end.
Speaking of the dolphins, Sandy the dolphin is actually a male dolphin named Capricorn. Capricorn is still alive and lives across the street from SeaWorld at SeaWorld's Discovery Cove.
