Saturday - Went to PGA Superstore, tested Mizuno, Cobra SB, and JAWS RAW - All clubs were in the same grind. I was looking for a 60 degree versatile grind for around the greens. Cobra SB - no demo available so hard to test fully with tape on the grooves. Mizuno - not bad, but wasn't doing what I wanted to when it came to stopping power. Callaway X Grind - Easy to hit sweet spot, open face, easy to flop with zero effort, roll out was like a yard or 2, spin was ideal. All 3 wedges I tested with closed, open, square faces. I also tested them with 10% swing, 25%, 50% and full shot (ill never full shot 60). Callaway tested best. I play TM 54 and 56 TW 12bounce wedges and the 60 callaway just really was an overall enjoyable experience. Stock shaft for the MG3 wedges was an S200 which is far too light for me and I didn't want to upgrade the shaft. Stock 60 degree callaway is DG Tour Issue 115 spinner shaft (its a money shaft). I would have gone for MG3 60 degree if they actually offered grinds for their wedges. Each wedge has the same grind, standard. Only difference is the bounce and I don't want to spent extra $$ just to get the wedge grind I want when a competitor has it off the shelf ready to go. I bought the 60 X grind BLACK JAWS RAW (gorgeous wedge), played a full 18 2 hours later and it performed extremely well. Greens were a mix - some were soft and some were firmer and the stopping power was just there. Right now clubs are getting serviced and I am getting the 60 lengthen to my standard playing length, but even though it was short. My type of play around the greens it did not make a difference to me. If you can, go test these even if they are in a simulator, the stopping power of your ball on the green is really good. I know for the fact that if I land within 12 feet I will be right next to the hole everytime. Even on super firm and fast greens I can tell that the ball would not release as much as other wedges. 1 thing I wish though that Lamkin sold those grips you get on the JAWS RAW in store, they are SO GOOD. Super soft like a foam grip, but its a corded grip so there is zero slippage with water. They sell the UTX grips but the callaway specific grip for these wedges is just something else. I bought my standard MCC+4 Midsize Golf Pride Align to replace...I am not replacing it and will now us that 14$ for a different club.

@@silvermediastudio Ya I haven't regretted any decision besides doubting the club. Long Story short - i was looking for distance and the club was not performing how i wanted it to. I ended up going 50-56-60 TM MG3 wedges...then I started to hate myself for it, because they were not performing like the callaway. Went back to Callaway JAWS RAW - 50 - 54 & 60 - zero issues now. Wasn't the clubs obviously it was my swing, but also the TURF interaction with the Callaway wedges were FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR better than the TM wedges. I extensively tested before spending more $$$$ on new wedges. Now my short game is best it has ever been. Callaway did everything right with their wedges, I just needed to not be stubborn and work on my swing instead of blaming the club.

I love the leading edge grind they've done to all the wedges. Never played a Callaway wedge before, but this feature alone made me order two new wedges - awaiting delivery. Went S-grind for the 52 and X-grind in the 58.

What’s the down side of more bounce? I have a 50 degree s grind which is ok but I want to try to rely on it more for shots out of rough and run shots more. I find it snags the rough too much and slows or closes club head. Do I need a 50 with a w grind?

These videos aren't fun to watch at all.. which is a shame I'm a huge callaway fan but I would rather watch and listen to the taylormade guy than this person for callaway
