A few years ago Rachel and I had talked about building a water collection system at this house.. This year we decided to make it happen. We found free used wood, we bought 2 used barrels and cleaned them out and I designed and printed all the Attachments to fit our downspout for the Diverter to kick the leafs out but still collect the water with a grate system. We spent weeks looking online never to find what we were looking for so we 3d printed it!! I used e6000 to create a watertight seal and to glue everything together. The system works great collecting most of the water from that downspout and filling a 55 gallon barrel in just a few hours of light rain. We also use the system to pump the leftover water from our fish tanks to water the lawn with from our water changes. The system should pay for itself with in the first year of water cost savings over the summer.
I hope you enjoyed the build and come back for the next one by hitting that subscribe , ya never know what kind of video were gonna upload next.
