skydiveSkydive Indiana wants to put the spotlight on the Frankfort Municipal Airport by having a world record attempt for the number of skydives by an individual. The Frankfort/Clinton County Airport Authority Board heard a presentation by Skydive Indiana President Bob Dougherty about the plan. The world record is currently held by Jay Stokes of 640 attempts set at the Greensburg Airport where Skydive Indiana was located before they relocated to Frankfort. Dougherty said Stokes is hoping to have 700 attempts at the event, which is a 24-hour event scheduled for Sept. 5 and 6 2014. Dougherty said they are hoping to raise $100,000 during the event which will be earmarked for Special Olympics. Dougherty added they had between 30,000 and 40,000 people attend the event in Greensburg. Board President Alan Dunn said this should be a great event to showcase Frankfort.
