Someone said this before and I think it’s really true. When you’re singing/rapping, you’re technically holding back your feelings so it doesn’t mess up your voice. But it’s also the thing that makes you feel the most, you feel so much when you’re singing or rapping but you can’t show them in your voice.

I always wondered what was going on in Jay Z's mind during all this: Looks to the left, remembering the spot where Chester stood during their House Of Blues show, for playing Collision Course for the first time. Then gets a flashback of every time he performed with Chester, gets emotional, closes his eyes and stands in front of the mic stand in a pose similar to Chester's.

I love the fact that during Chester’s part Jay stayed silent other than emphasizing Chester’s lines with a “Yeah”. He let Chester have his moment during this even though Chester is gone.. that’s respect. That’s love right there. Jay absolutely loved Chester and Linkin Park. There’s a reason he agreed to do Collision Course. He actually enjoyed Linkin Park’s music and thought Chester was one of the most impressive singers he’s ever met. He was always blown away by his range. Mad respect to Jay for letting Chester still have his moment.

2023, I'm back, and you're absolutely right. I saw tears in his eyes. You could feel pain. I think this man is a genuinely nice guy. You will hardly ever hear news about his family as in Bey and the kids. Solange has kinda adopted that, too. She's very quiet. I hope she writes a movie, produces it, and writes the music. What I love is that they don't want to be worshipped . Jay-Z just says the odds were against us. They messed around and gave the right black people wealth. Digress- Meghan Markle loves scandals and making money selling stories. Have you noticed that no one is really talking about it. Bey, Kelly Jay-Z, they wouldn't associate with such because they're so private..

The performance duo between Jay z and Linkin Park was the first time i saw Jay Z emotionally touched at the part where Chester sings. I personally believe no one had ever moved Jay Z like that before especially with his own song and this is why Jay Z felt compelled to do this tribute. There really will never be such a great collab ever again. Rip !!

this is beautiful. Just look at Jay-Z's posture and hands. After the first hook and listening to Chester's voice his whole demeanour softened. and for Jay to not echo a word in a song for that long... If you just watch his other tributes and such you can see there's a difference. It wasn't just respect to Chester, there was sadness in his eyes. Even in his interviews back then when they asked him about Chester and etc, his mode would always change. His responses never felt like a politically neutral statement or rehearsed. And this man is pretty damn smart at responding to questions and situations. I just wanna say thank you for your openness and willingness to do this Collab. Every time I watch the documentary, I smile when I get to see what you feel. From the start where you were still maybe apprehensive while heading over, to when you were listening to the beats and probably thinking ok I think we can do what MTV needs, to knowing MTV gonna owe you guys big time, to the respect you gave on stage and finally that look we all know after seeing Chester scream. You are a true G:entlemen. Btw, Collision Course was the 1st LP I ever bought. The memory of the first time I played that on my Technics, remembering practically running back to the player after to stop it after the 1st 10 seconds, feeling this deserves everything to be perfect. Spending the next few days tuning my system back and changing stylus. And finally when nobody was home at 2pm on a Tuesday, my neighbours thought I was pissed at my sister getting my Starbucks order wrong.

I did this!! song means so much to me, I feel Chester was referring to a father who was trying to mould a son into the person he wanted him to be, which up until I had my own son my father did to me, I worked for him, I was in the same trade as him. My son was born nearly 6 years ago he’s called Chester too 3 months later I quit my job I’m now earning more money than my dad

I remember hearing this for the first time on the radio in the car and it made me cry. Even on the radio without seeing Jay and his body language you could feel the emotion. Greatness recognises greatness. Linkin parks music imo is genuinely beautiful, Chester was clearly in so much pain and he took his pain and created something beautiful that resonated with so many.

@@kingexclusivo you do realize a lot of singers have their voice changed with software and so on after they record, right? Kinda like photoshop for the voice, so that it sounds as impeccable as possible. That's why most singers do not sound the same when singing live as on their albums and so on.
