It was Tatum’s first finals. Just like any other superstars in the basketball history, I pretty much expected he was going to pay his dues at this age especially against a GSW led by Curry, Klay and Draymond. Tatum is lucky that he paid them at 24, not 27 or 30. If you have to fail, it is always good to fail big and fail young. Plus he was pretty much gassed after playing the most minutes in the playoffs after 2 rounds 7 game series Vs Bucks and Miami with an injured shoulder and rested for only 3 days before the Finals Vs GSW. He would have been much more dominant if he were well rested. Celtics really need to find someone reliable who can give the Jays some rest. And at the same time fill the bench depth with a combination of talented youth players and experienced veterans. This will make or break the team coming into the playoffs. I honestly won’t worry too much about his Finals performance. I even felt losing the Finals could be a blessing in disguise to push himself to become better and better to achieve more and more in the future. If his road to success was too easy, full of flowers and praises at this young age, then he will get complacent easily. He is young, he has to get better, he will get better and he will get there. He is the kind of player who will get many more Finals appearance in the future and this year’s finals will prepare him well for the future.

All I’m hoping for after rewatching these highlights is that he gets back to being this aggressive going to the rim in this finals🤌🏾💯 there is a great argument to be made that it’s not many on Dallas that can stop him if he’s going downhill and attacking the rim with force plus if he gets that going then it will open up opportunities for our shooters to get wide open shots and a chance to get in a hot rhythm early

Looking back at this playoff run, I seriously don’t understand why Celtics fans are blaming him for the finals loss when he was the leading scorer in 3 of the 6 games. He also scored the 2nd most points out of any Celtics player that series. Nobody else showed up other than Jaylen Brown. However, I don’t wanna hear excuses from Celtics fans when he hurt his ankle against the Heat cause he played almost the entire game despite only putting up 14 points. While I do think that Tatum could’ve shown more effort in that game, Derrick White and Marcus Smart were really the only healthy ones who showed up.
