Amazing video! Very clear one after the other with the feel of these chords.. Perfectly to learn for me 😊 Thanks a lot!

Another amazing tutorial Noah. Love your playing. Don't think I've ever seen Cmaj7(b9) written. Do you always refer to #5 as b13? For some reason I'm much happier with C7(#5/#9). So in your playing do you ever play the regular 5 (G) AND the b13, if you're playing a spread voicing?

Hey Chris, good question- yeah I think that chord is more commonly referred to as 7(#5/#9)! To answer your second question, yes, definitely! Totally fine to have the natural 5 somewhere in the voicing with a b13 in my opinion, and I do it sometimes. In the end, all of this stuff comes down to- do you like how it sounds? If you like the clash of a b9 over a Major 7.... then by all means, go for it! Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a CMaj7(b9) written either haha... very clashy sound. But, even that, I think, could be used tastefully depending on the context.

@@NoahKellman Thanks Noah, that's great information. Appreciate the reply. I'll see if I can come up with a voicing that shows the maj7 b9 in a favourable light :)

I will have to say that the 7#11 sound strongly resolves as bVII7#11 to the vi chord (11 on top) or to IMaj... especially if approached by the IVMaj7 chord or iiimin9
