Wow what memories, I started my 6 year apprenticeship in 1955, first on Heidelberg Platens, to Heidelberg cylinders, to offset Litho, to Newspaper pressman, to retirement. The longest run I've known on Heidelberg Platens is overprinting 12 million butter wrappers ( wrong ingredients). Thanks Mr. GUTENBERG for giving the world one of the greatest inventions in history.

Fabulosas joyas de impresión, hechas con garantía vitalicia. Me sentiría honrado si llego a tener una de ellas. Felicitaciones a quienes mantienen vivo el arte tipográfico y un gran saludo desde Venezuela.

To think that I started in the graphic industry at the age of 18 and witnessed the decline of typography, then I continued with offset presses: (Gestetner, AB Dick, Solna 125) and now toner color photocopiers, I still have my machines intact but now my cracked health does not allow me to continue. The graphic industry is my passion and I am a letterpress, offset, copier machinist. Everything ended with the electronic age of smart phones and COVID. Greetings from Lima, Peru. 2023.

C'est la grande famille de l'imprimerie. Ce travail c'est une très grande passion pour moi. Mais malheureusement nous sommes en Afrique et les moyens nous font défaut.

Well done video. Music fits very well. I've run every one of those machines as well as windmills, Miehles, Millers, and Bobst. Maintenance looks great. I just wonder how many times those pumps have been rebuilt........

in 1937 i was born a singing proofreader, toa small town job printer in gas city, indiana. in '53 dad was one of two people in the US who bought a 1953 Heidelberg at the pprinters exposition in chicago. the sound of presses producing beautiful products still makes my heart beat faster. he may have owned a Kluge--not sure. but he printed porbably hundreds of catsup labels to make the weight say 14 oz. that press could do it all--such precision....there may be a still-working model in wisconsin, i believe. and maybe one in texas....

I witnessed the decline and end of typography... now I witness the decline and end of the offset system replaced by digital toner printing, on the way to digital electronics, 40 years dedicated to the graphics industry. I am overcome with grief.

pretty risky letting all presses run at once without supervision. also unusual in any shop to have everything in use at once
