I bought the Kawasaki oil filter tool and I can fit my ratchet on it. Makes it a breeze to do it that way. Thanks for posting all of these videos JD!

The oem one looks very similar to the one I have right?

Yep, almost identical! None of the filter wrenches I have for my cars fit the Kawi so I bought it. As anything OEM, it was kind of expensive. 🤑

Great job, looks like the way to go when it comes to changing the oil. Nice filter wrench for sure. No doubt it can be a little pain in the butt accessing the filter. Thanks for sharing! Billy D

You are going to turn me into a "grease monkey" with your great video tutorials. I’ve been too intimidated for the sheer lack of knowledge. It seemed like voodoo magic, you are shattering the mystic for me which is a great thing. Can’t thank you enough.

Hahaha well experience plays a big role, so don’t be too hard on yourself- it takes years to learn these machines but once you do- they are easy to fix and maintain yoirself

I use K&N filter which has the nut on end of filter a 17mm open fits in perfect quick and easy i would put K&N up against kawasaki oem filter anyway but nothing wrong with using OEM products but pretty sure kawasaki does not produce there filters I'm sure it's out sourced. Great video as always JD 👍

I did a video on that K&N filter..the nut is a great feature- but there’s no guarantee the bypass pressure is the same as the oem..and for me it’s not as much that Kawasaki manufactures the filter but that it’s been engineered to their exact spec and subjected to their particular testing

K&N for me as well, I've run one since 2012. I only use Amsoil 10W-40

I did a video on the K&N filter. It’s not a bad filter except that it’s $6 more than the stock one..I got it the one time when I didn’t want to wait for the stock one to ship. Amsoil is good, also more expensive than the KPO synthetic oil. I like that Amsoil provides all the specs for their oil openly on their website- know plenty of people who swear by it

Yeah, if it’s stuck really bad, you will have to take off the intake manifold in order to get a larger wrench on it for more leverage

Hey JD , What’s the chances I could get your help with my 22 ultra. Since I did this Rive free flow , exhaust bypass and block off plate. I’ve had issues. 🤦♂️ I think somehow I got some hoses mixed up. I’m getting water in my Hull now more then ever before. And I can’t find any video or diagrams that shows every hose and it’s location and connection.

Dude…this is why I avoid Riva parts…they are SeaDoo guys, not Kawi guys and I have personally been F’d by them many years ago when I was a teenager needing help with repairs..and that’s why you will never see my install or feature any of their parts on my channel. That being said the bypass is a simple part..did you torque all the bolts correctly? Use new crush gaskets?Double check all your hose clamps, and make sure theres no nicked or damaged hoses…There’s not that many hoses..you have the one on the top of the exhaust pipe which goes right to the flush port, you have the flush port and exit lines for the intercooler, and you have a few other hoses from the oil cooler, stator cover/ output bearing, and supercharger that all go to the jet pump feed lines. You have the bilge lines…

Thx for the quick reply, also a huge thanks for the supercharger belt tensioner upgrade vid. Just completed mine 14’ 310R, woulda never tried it if not for your video. Ordered all from Kawi Perf, and let them know why. Keep up the great vids!

Haha awesome man! Yeah Kawi Performance makes some great components- I have not had one thing from them fail (or even rust) between their exhaust filter bypass and the auto tensioner - they have basically eliminated most of the annoying maintenance items on this ski!

Hey JD, Thanks for the tips. Placing a rag below the filter will help with clean up. So I have to update you on the 2016 Ultra 310 I bought in June. I pulled the motor, bought Forged pistons, rebuild the head. 6 guides and 4 new valves. Had the cylinder re-Nikasil . It was cheaper to buy forges pistons here in Canada, than in the USA. ..Anyways, I put the motor back together and went out last weekend. Ski in chop, 66mph. The sad thing is I met up with a few youngsters on 2012-22 Sea Doo RXP-X,... They KICK MY ASS. So here is the question, do you know anyone running a turbo set up on the Ultra 310 LX , X or R ? Thanks

@@JDsWaterWorld ... It has stock EU, stock pump and stock boost. One of the first thing I did was remove the stereo system. - It was only my first ride and already I know I want to be in the high 70s, or low 80s. Your thoughts ?

You will not get into the 80s on that ski without dropping some serious coin. You did most of the hard engine upgrades but need a tune now…With a Kspeed Stage 1 kit (intake grate, ECU, pump wedge) you can get to low/mid 70s. Not sure on the condition of your pump, bearings, and impeller but on an almost 10 yr old ski they might need replacement too if you are chasing every last mph. What’s your RPM?

Have never seen one consumer SeaDoo or Yamaha actually on the water here with a turbo. The KZitem guys with all the crazy mods tend to be trailer queens…or lake queens…never hit the ocean

Have to remove the intake manifold and throttle body, it's right underneath. I do not have a video on the process
